Sometimes you gotta feel your way through…

Sometimes you gotta feel your way through.

Now that I’m older..I get what Solange meant when she said “ I tried to drink it away…”

Oftentimes, we try to avoid the things that cause us sadness or discomfort.

But sometimes by avoiding our problems, we are miss the opportunity to grow and become better versions of ourselves.

Sometimes the only way to the other side..is going through shit.

The tears..the sadness..the anger..the fear.. taking accountability for the role we played in situations.

These are not things to avoid..emotions are messengers.

Feel your way through it so that you can finally get through this season of life. 🤎

Rather than trying to suppress or avoid these emotions, which only prolongs the pain, feeling them deeply provides a sense of release and clarity. One practical approach I've adopted is journaling my emotions and reflecting on their root causes. This self-reflection helps me understand not only the external events that triggered my feelings but also my role and reactions, fostering accountability and growth. It’s important to realize that emotions are not obstacles but messengers guiding us towards healing. For example, feeling fear can show us where our boundaries lie, and sadness often signals that we need to prioritize self-care or change. When I embraced this mindset, I noticed a shift in how I dealt with hardships—less avoidance and more acceptance. I also echo the wisdom in the quote mentioned: sometimes the only way out is through. This means pushing through discomfort rather than escaping it, which ultimately leads to greater resilience and a deeper understanding of oneself. This has been especially true during times when I felt like numbing my emotions, only to realize that processing them fully made me stronger. If you’re on a healing or wellness journey, try allowing yourself to feel without judgment. Lean into the discomfort just enough to learn from it, and trust that this process is a vital step in becoming a better version of yourself.
