I've NEVER seen them together like that before!

I swear this game was buggin! Not only did I get stuck behind a box, but there was at least 2 times i'd shoot a flare in front of an enemy and still get a jump scare 🙄. This whole section was frustrating. How do they expect you to solve a puzzle with a horde of enemies coming from every direction. The least they could do is make their sound effect alert you to where they're coming from.

... Read moreOMG, I totally get what you mean about Poppy Playtime Chapter 3! That section where you're trying to solve a puzzle while being swarmed by enemies? Pure chaos! I felt like I was STUCK AT THE WORST TIME more often than not, especially when the crucial puzzle piece was just out of reach. It's like the game developers want you to lose your mind and just give up! One moment that really got me was during the power core reactivation puzzle where you have to connect circuits in a specific order. I was focused, wires in hand, and suddenly, a whole gang of critters would just appear from nowhere! You're trying to focus on the intricate details of the puzzle, watching the lights, and then BAM! A jump scare from an enemy you didn't even hear approaching. It makes you just want to yell, "IWON'TWAITFORYOU!" to the game as you desperately try to reposition and figure out where the attack came from. I swear, my heart rate was through the roof the entire time I was in that area. I remember one specific encounter where I was almost done with a particularly tricky valve sequence, and about three different enemies cornered me. I fired a flare, hoping it'd give me some crucial breathing room or at least a moment of respite, but nope! They just kept coming, completely ignoring the flare's supposed deterrent effect. It's like they've got built-in radar for when you're most vulnerable, specifically when your back is turned to a glowing console. For anyone else absolutely struggling with these relentless sections, I've picked up a few general things that somewhat helped me, even if they didn't completely solve the problem. First, always be on the lookout for potential safe zones or choke points. Sometimes, backing into a corner or a narrow doorway can help manage the horde, letting you pick them off one by one, or at least buying you a few precious seconds to glance back at the puzzle. Also, don't be afraid to just run! If you're utterly overwhelmed and your health is low, sometimes a tactical retreat to a previous, safer room to reset the enemies or lure them away from the immediate puzzle area is the best move. Then you can circle back with a clearer path. Another thing I tried, which you also mentioned, was boosting the in-game sound effects volume, hoping for a better alert system. But like you said, it felt almost useless for detecting enemies until they were practically on top of me or already grabbing me. It's such a crucial element in horror games – sound design often makes or breaks the tension and helps players react – and when it's not quite right, it just adds to the frustration and unfairness. It truly felt like I was fighting the game's mechanics as much as the monsters. I also learned not to get too complacent after clearing a wave. Even if you think you've taken everyone out, sometimes another group pops up right after, or a single straggler you missed ambushes you. It's a constant cycle of trying to solve the puzzle, fighting off enemies, and then quickly trying to "GET UP" if you take a hit, all while knowing more are probably on their way. It's definitely a test of patience and resilience! Has anyone found specific patterns for when the enemies spawn during these puzzle sequences? Knowing that might be a game-changer. What are your absolute go-to strategies for these kinds of overwhelming sections in Poppy Playtime Chapter 3? Any secret tips for managing the mobs while trying to think straight and solve those intricate puzzles? Let me know, because I'm still recovering from that whole ordeal, and every bit of advice helps! It's a fun game with a great atmosphere, but those specific puzzle-horde moments are brutal and definitely the most challenging part of my playthrough so far.
