Issues at the polls
As usual, Alabama is making it difficult for people to vote.
Let’s start with I live in a small town of over 10k people and one polling location. 🥴
The polls were supposed to open at 7am and at 815am they were still not open. They experience “issues” every election that keeps them from opening the doors on time and excessively long wait times and lines.
This is a form of voter intimidation and suppression. Report them immediately.

In Alabama, many voters face systematic challenges that hinder their ability to vote effectively. From polling places that open late to excessively long lines, these recurring issues can create an atmosphere of uncertainty for voters. Such obstacles not only lead to frustration but also deter individuals from exercising their democratic rights. Voter suppression tactics can take many forms, often disproportionately affecting marginalized communities. It's critical for voters to be aware of their rights and to report any discrepancies they encounter at polling stations. Reporting issues can be done through voter protection hotlines where assistance can be accessed. The National Voter Protection Hotline, reachable at (833) 336-8683, is a vital resource for voters needing help. Each state has dedicated numbers to address local voter issues, which can be found online. By advocating for transparency and accountability in the electoral process, citizens can help ensure fair voting practices and uphold the integrity of their elections. Awareness and action are key to combating voter intimidation and safeguarding every individual's right to participate in the democratic process.
