You don’t have to feel bad about yourself.

Something the gym has given me that I will always be thankful for is confidence.

If you’re not feeling great about yourself, I urge you to start working out.

Push yourself out of your comfort zone.

Go to the gym and take up space.

Prove to yourself that your health is a priority.

Teach yourself that taking care of yourself feels good and that you are worth the time and effort.

That confidence will bleed into your life outside the gym.

I never wear makeup, I never worry about other people in the gym, and I don’t concern myself with other people’s opinions of me anymore.

Because I know that I’m not afraid to do what is hard, to do what is good for me, and that if I want something, I can achieve it.

Working out isn’t all about how you look.

It’s much deeper than that.

I hope you find that out someday if you haven’t already.

Over time, that faded as I focused on what truly mattered: respect for myself and celebrating effort rather than perfection. The phrase "take up space" is more than physical presence; it's about owning your right to exist fully and unapologetically. The gym becomes a training ground not just for muscles but for self-assurance. This newfound confidence then spills into everyday life—helping to reduce anxiety, foster resilience, and encourage pursuit of goals with determination. Moreover, redefining success in workouts to include emotional and mental benefits shifts the focus inward. It's about feeling good in your skin, acknowledging your worth, and proving to yourself that you can achieve difficult things. These lessons change how you handle life’s challenges outside the gym too. If you haven't yet, I encourage you to start small but consistently. Celebrate each visit, each progress step. Remember, confidence is built through action and kindness toward yourself. The gym’s greatest gift might just be the courage it instills—not simply in fitness but in owning all aspects of your life.
