MSM-07 / MSM-07S "Z'gok" Principality of Zeon Amphibious Mobile Suit
"An amphibious mass-produced mobile suit developed by the Principality of On. Developed at the California-based MIP Arsenal.
The development of amphibious MS in the Principality Army was started with the decision of the Earth invasion operation in February 0079 of the Space Century. The initial plan was to modify and operate the 06 series aircraft, but the Zaku Marine type was not able to withstand actual battles due to its withstand voltage and armor shape, so amphibious MS was developed from a new perspective. Z'Gok is an aircraft developed based on the second development plan based on practical data of aircraft such as Gog, and is said to be one of the best amphibious MS in the One Year War.

私自身、ガンダムシリーズの中でも特にMSM-07ズゴックのデザインと機能性に惹かれています。ズゴックは水陸両用モビルスーツとして設計されたこともあり、水中での機動力や戦闘能力が非常に高い点が魅力的です。特に、ザク・マリンタイプの欠点を改善したことで、耐圧性能の向上や装甲の合理的な形状が実現し、実戦配備にも耐えられる信頼性を確立しました。 私がズゴックを知ったきっかけは、ガンダムのアニメで繰り広げられる水中戦のシーンで、その流線型のフォルムと個性的な腕部武装が非常に印象的だったからです。開発の舞台がキャリフォルニアベースのMIP社工廠であることも、リアルに感じられて興味深い点でした。ゴッグなどの先行機体のデータを踏まえて第二期開発計画として企画されたため、歴史的背景も豊かでファンとしては語り尽くせません。 また、ズゴックは一年戦争の中でも数々の戦闘に 投入されており、その卓越した性能はまさにジオン軍の水陸両用MSの象徴です。私が模型制作に挑戦した際にも、そのユニークなデザインとカラースキームは作りがいがあり、完成後はガンダムコレクションの中でも特に存在感を放っています。ズゴックのように開発背景や性能、デザインが明確に語られたMSは、ファンとして大切にしたいですね。
