Hey everyone! I'm so excited to share some of my latest Wings of Fire original characters, or OCs, that I've been pouring my creativity into. Creating fantribes and unique dragon characters for the WoF universe is one of my favorite things to do, and it's been such a journey developing these two. I always start by sketching out ideas and letting their personalities emerge. First up, let me introduce you to Orbit! She's a striking blue and white dragon-like OC, and her story is really taking shape. I envisioned her as a skilled assassin working for a secret rebellion. When I was designing her, I focused on elements that would make her look both stealthy and formidable. That's why I gave her a distinctive skull on her head – it adds to her mysterious and slightly dangerous aura, don't you think? And her tail spear isn't just for show; it's a key part of her arsenal, perfect for quick, decisive strikes. I spent a lot of time thinking about what it would be like to be an assassin in Pyrrhia or Pantala, the kind of moral dilemmas she'd face, and how her abilities would fit into a larger rebellion. Seeing her character sheet come to life has been incredibly rewarding, capturing all those intricate details. Then there's Stardust, my vibrant orange and yellow dragon-like OC. She's got a completely different vibe! Stardust is a Harvester Manager, and let me tell you, she does not like her boss. Her stern expression on the character sheet really captures her personality perfectly. I wanted to create a character who, despite her position, is a bit fed up with the daily grind and the bureaucracy. It's fun to imagine her navigating the complexities of her job, dealing with subordinates, and secretly plotting her next move against her annoying superior. Her color palette was chosen to reflect a certain warmth, but her demeanor shows she's all business and a bit jaded. It’s truly rewarding to dive deep into character development. For anyone else out there looking to create their own Wings of Fire fantribes or WoF fan tribes, my advice is to really think about the small details that make your character unique. What's their backstory? What are their motivations? How do their physical traits reflect their personality? Even a simple comic panel, like the one I drew with two dragons, where the orange character says "Winter your so cool" and the white replies "I'M NOT A KISSBOY," can bring so much life and personality to your OCs. It helps you understand their voice and how they interact with the world and other characters. It's a great way to explore their dynamics before you even write a full story. I know some of you might be looking for inspiration on platforms like DeviantArt for unique character ideas or even for specific items like a "hopper ball" (though that's a bit outside my usual dragon themes!), but for me, the magic really happens when you blend existing WoF lore with your own imagination. Whether you're designing a fierce combine assassin like Orbit or a disgruntled manager like Stardust, every detail – from a tail spear to a specific facial expression – builds a richer world for your creations.
