My journey with my ATEEZ Lightiny has taught me so much, and I'm excited to share how you can bring that dazzling touch to your own items, whether it's a lightstick, phone case, or even your favorite pair of sneakers! First things first, let's talk about the essentials. Beyond just rhinestones and glue, having the right tools makes all the difference. For my Lightiny, I used SS3, SS6, and SS12 rhinestones in different shades to add dimension. SS3s are tiny and perfect for intricate details or text, while SS12s give you that big, bold sparkle for larger areas. Choosing flatback rhinestones is key for most projects, as they have a flat base for easy adhesion. You can find a huge variety on Amazon, just like I did. Now, for the glue – B7000 is my go-to for its strong hold and precision applicator, which is super handy for those tiny spaces. It dries clear and offers a bit of flexibility once cured, meaning your rhinestones are less likely to pop off with everyday use. Other popular choices include E6000 (very strong, but can be stringy) or specialized rhinestone glues. Always do a small test patch if you're unsure! The 'how-to' part is simpler than you might think, even for beginners! Clean Your Surface: This is crucial! Any dust, oil, or residue will prevent your glue from sticking properly. A quick wipe with rubbing alcohol and letting it dry completely works wonders. Plan Your Design: For my Lightiny, I knew I wanted to highlight the ATEEZ logo and cover the body. You can sketch your design on paper, use a stencil, or even lay out your rhinestones dry on a piece of contact paper to visualize before gluing. This step saves so much time and potential frustration. Gather Your Tools: Besides glue and rhinestones, a wax pickup pencil or a pair of fine-tipped tweezers will be your best friends. These help you pick up and place even the smallest rhinestones with accuracy. A small tray for your rhinestones also makes them easier to access. Start Gluing: Work in small sections. Apply a tiny dot of B7000 glue where you want to place a rhinestone. Don't glob it on, as too much glue can seep out and dull the sparkle. Gently pick up a rhinestone with your tool and place it firmly onto the glue. Try to keep your spacing consistent for a polished look. For my Lightiny's body, I started from one corner and worked my way around, packing the SS12s in tightly to minimize gaps. Cure Time: This is where patience comes in. B7000 takes about 24-48 hours to fully cure, although it's touch-dry within minutes. Resist the urge to touch or move your bedazzled item until it's completely dry. Want to bedazzle other things?
