truly a hidden gem for tailoring at a fraction of the cost!! they are from BKK iirc and visit SG every start of the month for fittings/orders.
suit + pants range from $350 to $1k (including pants), depending on the material you choose. i’d suggest going for something more stretchable and cooling to the touch — and ofc a colour that complements your skin tone!!
fiancé spent about $700 total: $600 for the full suit + $100 for a shirt. you can customise the lapels (peak, notch, shawl) and even the width (usually based on your shoulder width), choose with/without pockets, and with/without a buttonhole on the lapel depending on where the groom wants to place the boutonnière (typically boutonnière at the lapel buttonhole, handkerchief in the pocket). pockets are optional… but better to have than not imo. you can also customise the shirt - from choosing the material, cuff styles to shirt’s front & back styles.
didn’t realise customising a suit involves so many decisions, but it’s 100% worth it for the price. we spent a solid 2 hours here!! stay tuned for pt. 2 when we head back to try on the suit skeleton ✨
... Read moreWhen it comes to tailor-made suits, the level of personalization can truly transform your wardrobe and confidence. From my experience working with a Bangkok-based tailor visiting Singapore, I found that understanding the key customization options enhances both style and comfort.
Firstly, choosing the right lapel style—whether peak, notch, or shawl—not only impacts the suit’s overall silhouette but can accentuate your body shape and the occasion. Peaked lapels often add a sharp, formal touch, ideal for weddings or business events, while shawl lapels offer a softer, elegant look.
Fabric selection is another vital consideration. Opting for stretchable and breathable materials makes a huge difference, especially in humid climates. Lightweight wool blends or cotton stretch fabrics offer comfort without sacrificing formality. It’s also important to pick colors that complement your skin tone; for example, navy and charcoal are versatile and flattering for many.
Custom options for pockets and buttonholes may seem minor but contribute significantly to functionality and style. Having a buttonhole on the lapel helps in placing a boutonnière for weddings, while functional pockets can carry essentials without compromising the suit’s shape.
Additionally, customizing shirt details such as cuff styles and back pleats can elevate your entire outfit. French cuffs, for example, add sophistication and are perfect for formal events. Spending ample time in consultations—like the nearly two hours I spent—ensures every detail aligns with your preferences.
Overall, although the customization process involves many decisions, it’s rewarding and affordable, especially when pricing ranges from $350 to $1,000 for a full suit including pants and shirt. Tailoring is an investment in your style that pays off in confidence and comfort, making special occasions truly memorable.
