I remember driving through Virginia’s scenic routes, stopping at small farms where the atmosphere is so welcoming. The fresh scent of flowers mixed with the sweet aroma of ripe fruit made the experience even more enjoyable. It’s important to bring a sturdy basket for all your picks and dress comfortably—plus, don’t forget sunscreen! Apart from the beauty and bounty, such road trips provide a chance to support local farmers and artisans. Many of these places also offer delicious homemade ice cream, a perfect treat after a day of outdoor fun. Whether you’re with family or friends, combining flower picking with peach and apple harvesting creates lasting memories and a wonderful connection to the season’s harvest in Virginia.
