Building something new!

I’m building something called Storymend Creative Co. 🤎

And I’m building it while I’m still figuring some of it out.

I’m a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, a writer, and someone who has always been fascinated by people and the stories we tell about our lives.

Then I started writing my own novel.

And somewhere in that process, I started noticing something.

Stories can fall apart in some of the same ways we do.

One thing takes over the whole story.

We get stuck in the same place.

We keep trying to fix what’s right in front of us when the real problem started much earlier.

We start believing one chapter explains the whole person.

That idea became Storymend.

A creative company built around storytelling, narrative repair, publishing, and conversations about the stories we write and the ones we tell about ourselves.

And no, I do not have all of this figured out. 😂

I’m writing my first novel.

I’m learning the publishing world.

I’m building a company.

I’m asking a million questions.

And sometimes I change my mind three times before lunch.

But I believe in what I’m building.

So instead of waiting until everything is polished and perfect to talk about it, I’m letting people watch me build Storymend in real time.

Welcome. 🤎

If you’re a reader , writer , podcaster let’s connect ! I not selling you anything I promise !

... Read moreBuilding something new like Storymend Creative Co is both exciting and challenging, especially when you’re discovering the process as you go. From my personal experience, starting a creative company centered on storytelling and narrative repair requires embracing uncertainty and continuous learning. It’s important to recognize that stories — whether fiction or our personal narratives — can break down when we fixate on one part and ignore deeper roots. I also found that storytelling closely intertwines with mental health, making this approach very authentic and meaningful. Just like how we mend stories, we can mend parts of ourselves by understanding where our story first shifted off course. This exploration can bring clarity not only to writers but to anyone reflecting on their life experiences. Navigating the publishing world while building a brand is no small feat. Networking with fellow readers, writers, and podcasters helped me gain fresh perspectives and encouragement. Building in public, as shared by Storymend’s founder, invites community support, accountability, and genuine connections without the pressure of perfection. For those interested in weaving storytelling into their careers or healing journeys, it’s helpful to stay open, curious, and patient with yourself as the company grows. It’s less about having all the answers and more about willingness to evolve your narrative, both personally and professionally. Storymend’s mission to engage conversations about the stories we tell ourselves resonates deeply with anyone on an author or healing path. If you’re contemplating a similar project, consider sharing your progress openly. This transparency can build trust and invite collaboration, making the process less isolating. Whether you’re writing a novel, launching a creative service, or exploring narrative repair, embracing imperfection and seeking connections are key steps toward meaningful growth.
