Taking today to stretch, recover, reset my mind, and prepare for the week ahead. Trying to stay consistent and realistic with this journey one workout at a time 🫶🏽
A lot of you asked me to start breaking down my workouts, so this week I’ll be sharing my simple at-home routine for anyone else trying to get back into fitness too. Nothing fancy. Nothing perfect. Just movement, consistency, and showing up for myself again 🤍
This week’s workouts include:
✨ RDLs
✨ Goblet Squats
✨ Sumo Squats
✨ Step-Ups
✨ Dumbbell Swings
✨ Arm Workouts
✨ Core Work
✨ Beginner-Friendly Movements
Save this for motivation & let’s reset together 💪🏽
Taking a dedicated day to rest and reset is essential in any fitness journey, especially when rebuilding consistency after a break or a busy schedule. From personal experience, scheduling a Sunday as a recovery and preparation day helped me maintain motivation throughout the week and avoid burnout. Stretching and light mobility work lay the foundation for a stronger week ahead, and incorporating simple movements like goblet squats or sumo squats targets major muscle groups without overwhelming your body. One key to success is focusing on beginner-friendly exercises and manageable sets—this keeps your workouts doable and keeps momentum going. For example, the routine featuring 3 sets of 12 goblet squats or 3 sets of 15 dumbbell swings effectively engages the lower body and core, building strength incrementally. Additionally, mixing in upper body work like standing dumbbell curls and seated knee tucks balances muscle groups and ensures a holistic approach. Don’t underestimate the power of light cardio, such as marching in place or outdoor walks, to enhance recovery and boost circulation. I also found that journaling progress and setting weekly intentions on rest days helped connect mind and body, enhancing the mental reset alongside physical recovery. Sharing your journey, even just breaking down workouts for friends or online communities, can increase accountability and inspire others. Remember, the focus is not on perfection but showing up consistently and respecting your body’s needs. This kind of routine, which blends strength, mobility, and recovery, can help anyone gradually rebuild fitness while enjoying their wellness journey.
