Tips to Find Cheap Hotel Deals

Nobody wants to overpay for anything when on vacation, hotels are no different. I tend to like booking hotels more than any other accommodation and it can be pricy sometimes but this is one of my favorite ways to find good deals and get cheaper hotel rates:

1. Search “Hotels + city” on Google

By doing this search of hotels + whatever city you’re planning on visiting, you will make the Google Hotels feature pop up. It will appear after the first 2-3 links that pop up and look like how the picture on slide 1 looks

2. Adjust Google Hotels Settings for Your Needs

Once you are on Google Hotels, adjust any filters you want to help filter the search results to what you’re looking for. Don’t forget to also adjust the dates too. I like to remain flexible in this process with the dates and filters (unless I absolutely have somewhere to be at a specific time). You can find better deals by remaining flexible too

3. Look at the Hotel Options That Pop Up

You can look through the list view or the map view and see all of the hotels that meet your criteria. I like using the map view so I can see the hotel options in a specific area I’d like to be staying at

4. Select a Hotel and Compare the Deals

This is my favorite feature of Google Hotels. When you select a hotel, it shows you the different prices on several booking sites, showing you which ones have the best deals and which ones to NOT book because of the prices being inflated. It helps me break down my decision when booking a hotel and I really think more websites should have this feature

I hope this guide is able to help you the next time you’re looking to book a hotel anywhere! Using Google Hotels really is a great resource and I highly recommend. If you have any other tips to find cheap hotel rates, feel free to share too :)

Use Price Comparison Tools: Websites like Kayak and Trivago can provide a comprehensive view of hotel prices across various booking platforms, ensuring you don't miss out on any special offers. 2. Consider Alternative Accommodations: Sometimes, booking sites for vacation rentals, such as Airbnb or Vrbo, can offer more competitive pricing compared to traditional hotels, especially for extended stays. 3. Book at the Right Time: Research suggests that booking your hotel at least 3 weeks in advance can often lead to lower rates, especially during peak travel seasons. However, keep an eye out for last-minute deals, which can also provide substantial savings. 4. Sign Up for Alerts: Many hotel booking websites allow you to set price alerts for specific dates and destinations. This way, you'll be notified when rates drop, allowing you to book at the ideal moment. 5. Leverage Loyalty Programs: Joining hotel loyalty programs can provide you with exclusive discounts and offers. Some programs even offer free nights after a certain number of stays. By employing these techniques alongside using Google Hotels effectively, you can maximize your chances of finding great hotel deals. Happy travels!
