📝✨ Journaling with Jesus — Day 7 ✨📝

A Mind Surrendered to Jesus

We’ve reached the final day of our 7-Day Bible Study: Taking Every Thought Captive.

Today is about surrender.

Taking every thought captive isn’t about trying to control everything ourselves. It’s about giving Jesus authority over our minds and trusting Him with every thought, emotion, worry, dream, question, and fear.

You don’t have to let fear become your master.

You don’t have to let your past define you.

You don’t have to let someone else’s opinion become your identity.

You don’t have to fight every battle alone.

Today, give Jesus access to your mind.

Write down the thoughts you need to surrender. Write down the truth you want to remember. Identify where your thinking needs transformation, and commit to practicing a new way of thinking through God’s Word.

Today’s declaration:

“My thoughts do not control me. My past does not define me. Fear does not rule me. Lies do not define me. I belong to Jesus. My mind is being renewed. I take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ.”

May this final day remind you that surrender isn’t weakness, it’s trust.

... Read moreIn my personal journey of spiritual growth, I've found that the act of surrendering my mind to Jesus is both challenging and profoundly freeing. Day 7 of this 7-Day Bible Study highlights a crucial step: giving Jesus full authority over our thoughts, emotions, fears, and insecurities. Surrender doesn’t mean losing control but rather trusting that God’s wisdom and love are greater than our worries. I used to battle fear constantly, letting past mistakes and others' opinions shape how I saw myself. But journaling these struggles while praying for God’s guidance helped me see the truth: I am not defined by my past or by fear. Writing down the thoughts I needed to surrender was a powerful exercise. By putting them on paper, I could confront them directly and then release them to Jesus. It felt like handing over a heavy burden and receiving peace in return. Renouncing the lies that held me captive—such as “I am not enough” or “I am alone in this”—became easier as I replaced them with scriptural truths like 2 Corinthians 10:5 which calls us to take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ. This daily practice of journaling helps me renew my mind and align my thinking with God’s promises. For anyone struggling with persistent negative thoughts or fear, I encourage you to try this method of surrender through journaling. It is a sacred space to pause, pray, write, and reflect, allowing God to work transformation in your heart. Remember, surrender is not weakness; it’s a courageous trust in Jesus. When we truly give Him access to every part of our minds, we can experience renewed strength and peace that surpasses understanding.
