It’s the only one. I can’t bring myself to finish. I normally always finish books. Even if I don’t like them. This one has damn near put me to sleeps every time.

Read moreFor many readers, deciding to DNF (Did Not Finish) a book can feel like a momentous choice, especially when the book is widely popular or a bestseller like 'From Blood and Ash' by Jennifer L. Armentrout. This novel, known for its romfantasy genre, blends romance and fantasy elements, captivating a large audience with its unique storyline. However, reader experiences vary greatly, and what some find engaging, others might find less compelling. In my case, despite a strong commitment to finishing every book I start, 'From Blood and Ash' repeatedly failed to hold my attention due to its pacing and narrative style that didn’t resonate with me personally. This highlights how individual preferences play an essential role in the enjoyment of literature. It’s important to acknowledge that a book's commercial success or popularity does not guarantee it will be a perfect fit for everyone. DNF’ing books can be a healthy part of a reader's journey. It allows you to prioritize your reading time on books that truly inspire, entertain, or enlighten you. Many readers use DNF as an opportunity to explore new genres or authors, ultimately refining their personal taste and enhancing their reading satisfaction. Engaging with communities through hashtags like #dnf, #books, and #romantasybooks facilitates honest conversations about diverse reading experiences, encourages exploration, and normalizes varied reactions – whether enthusiastic or critical – towards widely acclaimed titles. So whether it’s 'From Blood and Ash' or another title that doesn’t quite connect with you, remember that your reading journey is unique. It’s perfectly okay to set a book down and seek one that better matches your interests and mood. What’s key is enjoying reading on your terms and discovering stories that light up your imagination and emotions.
