Fried Porkchops with Smothered Potatoes 🧅
🔸 Are you a fan of pork?
🔸 Do you like your pork chops fried or baked?
🔸 For me and my family, nothing beats the comfort of Fried Pork Chops and Smothered Potatoes! Here’s what I used for this delicious recipe:
- Pork Chops
- Russet Potatoes
- Eggs
- Flour
- Hot Sauce
- Worcestershire Sauce
- Mustard
- Paprika
- Italian Seasoning
- Onion Powder
- Meat Tenderizer
- Garlic Powder
- Himalayan Salt
- Basil Leaves
- Pepper
🔸 I began by creating a wet batter for my egg wash, combining three eggs with Mustard, Hot Sauce, and Worcestershire Sauce. Next, I seasoned my flour with Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Pepper, Paprika, and Meat Tenderizer. After preparing both the wet and dry mixtures, I seasoned the pork chops with all the spices listed above. I then dipped each chop into the wet batter, followed by the dry batter, and let them rest while the oil heated up. Meanwhile, I chopped my potatoes and onions, seasoning the potatoes with Basil Leaves, Garlic Powder, and Meat Tenderizer. I cooked the pork chops in oil over medium-high heat for about 25 minutes on each side to achieve my desired crispiness, while the potatoes simmered in oil on low-medium heat for 30 minutes until they reached the perfect texture. And just like that, it was time to dig in! 😮💨
Fried pork chops are a beloved dish for many, offering a crispy exterior and juicy interior that pairs well with various sides. This recipe features russet potatoes, seasoned to perfection, complementing the pork's flavors beautifully. For an authentic touch, consider using high-quality spices like Himalayan salt and fresh basil leaves, ensuring each element stands out. The cooking process is straightforward: after preparing the egg wash with mustard and hot sauce, pork chops are seasoned and battered, creating a crispy texture when fried. The technique of double-dipping in wet and dry mixtures is key for that extra crunch! In addition to pork chops and potatoes, you can elevate your dish by serving it with a nice salad or steamed vegetables, adding a balance of nutrition. Exploring different sauces or gravies can enhance the flavors—think about garlic or mushroom gravy as additions that harmonize well. For those looking to experiment, try different types of potatoes or even sweet potatoes for a twist! Enjoy your culinary adventure making this delight, perfect for gatherings or everyday meals.
