God wants full custody not just weekend visits

Going to Sunday service isn’t enough. God wants a personal intimate relationship with us. It’s important that we feed our spirit by reading our word, prayer and worship. We build strong relationships by spending time with others and we get close to them and get to know them intimately and that’s what God wants with us. If you want to build a deeper relationship with God I encourage you to spend time with other Him in a daily bases. #godwantsfullcustodynotjustweekendvisits #prayer #biblestudy #timewithgod #timewithjesus #christianposts #consistency #discipline

... Read moreYou know, for a long time, I thought being a good Christian meant showing up to church on Sundays and maybe saying a quick prayer before bed. But then I really started understanding that powerful truth: God wants full custody not just weekend visits. It hit me – a relationship isn't built on sparse check-ins, right? It's about daily connection, intimacy, and truly inviting God into every corner of your life. This isn't just about avoiding sin; it's about pursuing a vibrant, living relationship with the Creator. So, what does this 'full custody' look like in practice? It's more than just reading your Bible or praying when you remember. For me, it transformed into a daily rhythm. Instead of just reading the Word, I started meditating on it. I’d pick a verse, write it down, and ask myself: 'How does this apply to my life today? What does God want to show me through this?' It’s like discovering hidden treasures in a familiar landscape. And prayer? It became a conversation, not just a monologue. I started journaling my prayers, pouring out my heart, fears, and dreams. Sometimes, I’d just sit in silence, learning to listen for that still, small voice. It's amazing how much clearer things become when you truly open up this dialogue. Worship moved beyond just songs on Sunday. It became an attitude of gratitude throughout my day – appreciating small blessings, acknowledging God's hand in challenging situations. This deeper connection isn't just for our own spiritual growth; it's also how we become salt and light to the world. When God has 'full custody' of our lives, His presence naturally shines through us. We become the 'salt' that preserves and adds flavor, bringing His goodness into our workplaces, families, and communities. We become the 'light' that dispels darkness, offering hope and truth simply by living authentically with His love. It's not about being preachy; it's about genuine kindness, integrity, and a peace that others can't quite explain. But let's be real, maintaining this daily connection isn't always easy. Life gets busy, distractions are everywhere, and sometimes we just feel spiritually dry. I've learned that consistency is more important than intensity. Even five minutes of quiet prayer or a single verse pondered can make a difference. It's about showing up, even when you don't feel like it. Finding an accountability partner or a small spiritual community has also been a game-changer for me. We encourage each other, share struggles, and celebrate breakthroughs. Embracing that God wants full custody not just weekend visits has truly revolutionized my faith. It’s a journey, not a destination, filled with moments of profound peace and challenging growth. But the intimacy and joy that come from living in close relationship with Him are immeasurable. It allows me to truly live out my purpose and be His hands and feet in a world that desperately needs His love.
