The Grooming appt to Animal Hospital

- STORY TIME - So earlier this afternoon I took Bentley which is my little puppy name to the groomers to she shaped up and clean this was his first time going to a new Pets smart since we had moved into a new neighborhood his old one was like 40mins away and we wanted to go somewhere closer to our home. I honestly didn’t think nothing of it because we never truly had a problem with the company now knowing all stores are different! But anyways I drop him off around 1pm and I went to go pick him up around 5 which was also a little longer than expected but hey he didn’t professionally groomed in a while which my boi needed the works 😂 Anyways I get him I pick him up and I’m saying how cute he is and stuff and I see him messing with his eyes and I constantly see him messing with his eyes to were he could barely open them so I kinda start panicking because I never had any issues with PetSmart so to have one is kinda crazy also. I instantly call pet smart letting them know that “Hey my dog keeps wiping his eyes and they are getting really irradiated” so they tell me to that I can either bring him in today or wait until tomorrow and they can pay for the vet fees of course I told them TODAY and immediately took him back to petsmart ! They examine him and honestly they didn’t do anything because they couldn’t find the vet in the stores maybe she was on lunch idk but they sent me to a neighboring vet which was actually down the street from my house so I went there it was around 7:00 at this time so most vets where about to close or where closed but the one they sent me to was a hospital like so this particular one is open 24hr. I get there they also took immediate action explaining them the situation in which I was thinking he was having an allergic reactions. So they take him on back they took his vitals and everything which they said his breathing was fast but the reason for that was he was probably scared from the car ride which Bentley really really hates riding in the car which I’m also trying to make conquer his fears. Sooo they checked us in and they took him on back so probably after 15 to 20 mins later they come out to me saying that his eyes were extremely irritated and almost burned like. They of course had to wash his eyes out and but a type of medication him there to give him some relief because at this point he wouldn’t even open his eyes. When he came back to the car they prescribed him some eyes drops as well as the cream which can give him some relief.

I did have to pay out of my own pocket which after the emergency visit and the procedure and the medication they gave us everything came out to be 230$ Yall this is my baby so of course I was going to pay it but I also did call petsmart back again and let them know what happened to him as well as how much everything cost. The mangers were completely understanding about how much everything cost and told us that we could come tomorrow to get reimbursed they just told us to bring the receipts from the hospital they also told us that they did an incident report on Bentley in which if we didn’t came back to the store that they was going to contact us the next day. That being said I think I will be going to a new groomer because for me if one bad incident happens the service is loss for me. Honestly I’m just glad it wasn’t really really bad and now he’s on the road for recovery ❤️‍🩹 #injuryrecovery #Pets
