Hirai Beach in Kashima City, Ibaraki Prefecture, is a beach where lifesavers are stationed every year since the opening of the sea began around mid-July. Since the beach area and the surfing area are separated, you can enjoy it with confidence even with small children.
🚗 Parking
There was a charge during the sea opening period, and in 2026 it was 800 yen per day for ordinary cars. About 800 cars can be parked.
Before the opening of the sea, surfers are mainly used, so there is almost no problem with the parking lot. On the other hand, it is an impression that it is often full even in the morning on holidays during the sea bathing season. If you want to park your car for sure, we recommend arriving early.

During the sea bathing season, surfing is limited to the swimming prohibited area on the left side of the first photo. Because it is well separated from the swimming area, it has a safe environment to enjoy.

私もかつて夏の平井海水浴場を訪れた際、ライフセーバーの安全管理がしっかりしている点にとても感心しました。監視塔に表示されている水温や気温の情報は、子ども連れでも安心して利用できる重要なポイントだと感じました。 また、遊泳エリアとサーフィンエリアが明確に区分けされているため、小さなお子さまや泳ぎに自信がない方でもリラックスして楽しめる環境が整っています。私が行った日も多くの家族連れがテントを張ってゆったり過ごしていて、早めの到着が混雑回避のコツという話にも納得しました。 設備面でも、海の家で温水シャワーや食事、浮き輪レンタルができるため、手軽に快適に過ごせます。トイレや無料シャワーの数も十分で、海水浴後の不便さを感じることはありませんでした。ゴミ箱も監視塔近くに設置されているので、自然環境を守りながら利用できるのもうれしい点です。 駐車場は約800台収容可能ですが、休日や海水浴シーズンの午前中はすぐに満車になることもあるため、私も早めの行動をおすすめします。海開き期間中の有料駐車場料金もリーズナブルで、コスパの良い海水浴スポットです。 また、現地では遊泳禁止エリアや注意事項の掲示もしっかりされており、監視員の指示を守る大切さも実感しました。周辺には他の観光スポットも多く、日帰りドライブや夏の家族旅行にもぴったりです。 以上のように、平井海水浴場は安全面・利便性共に充実しており、茨城県内でも家族連れに特におすすめしたい海水浴場です。これから夏の計画を立てる方には、是非候補に入れていただきたいスポットです。
