I paid off 40k of CC debt with this Budget Tracker

Monthly budgeting never worked for me. Especially when it came to paying extra on debts because I wasn’t confident that the extra payment wasn’t going to make me short one of the weeks during the month. I was living pay check to paycheck after all and I didn’t get paid every week.

I finally stopped looking and built my own spreadsheet that I could customize as I pleased and more importantly show me my balance projection per week instead of month. Since I knew exactly what was coming and going per week I was able to have the confidence I needed to make those extra payments and finally start tackling that credit card debt. 2 years later I was completely out of credit card debt and am not looking back. Now I am using it to plan investments, future travel, etc. there’s a ton of benefits of tracking your spending on a weekly level and I’m sure this tracker will help you reach your goals that much quicker.

There’s a prebuilt template on my shop or there’s a full tutorial on YouTube. You can find the link to both in my bio

... Read moreWhen I first started my debt-free journey, the biggest hurdle wasn't just making payments, but truly understanding where all my money was going and exactly how much I owed. It felt overwhelming! If you're looking for a solid 'debt overview' to kickstart your own financial transformation, the first step is always clarity. Start by listing every single debt you have – every 'Credit Card', personal loan, student loan, and their respective interest rates and minimum payments. Seeing it all laid out, perhaps even on a 'Dashboard' within your spreadsheet, can be a powerful wake-up call. This comprehensive view helps you decide which debts to tackle first, whether it's the highest interest rate (the 'debt avalanche' method) or the smallest balance (the 'debt snowball' method) for quick wins. My weekly budget tracker really helped me keep this 'debt overview' front and center, updating balances weekly so I always knew my exact standing. One of the reasons my 'Weekly Budget Tracker' was a game-changer for me, compared to traditional monthly budgets, is its ability to provide a more granular, almost 'dual-format' approach to my finances. While you can still project monthly totals, seeing my cash flow and expenses on a 'Spend Calendar' week by week gave me incredible control. It’s like having a 'Projected Weekly Budget' that updates in real-time, allowing me to adjust spending before I overspent, rather than realizing it at the end of the month. This was especially crucial when I was living paycheck to paycheck and needed to ensure I had enough funds for essential expenses each week. Beyond just debt, a robust 'Google Sheets' based tracker can be incredibly versatile. Once I conquered my 'Credit Card' debt, I started using it for 'Savings' goals – tracking my progress towards a down payment, travel, or an emergency fund. It's also fantastic for managing any side income. If you have a small business or a side hustle, like selling digital products through platforms, a good budget tracker becomes invaluable for keeping tabs on your revenue and expenses. This meticulous record-keeping is not just good for your personal bottom line; it also simplifies things significantly when tax season rolls around, ensuring you have a clear picture of your taxable income and deductible expenses. Making budgeting a weekly habit, reviewing your 'Projected Weekly Budget' and actual spending, really empowers you. Don't be afraid to customize your tracker – that's the beauty of using something like 'Google Sheets'. Take control, gain confidence, and watch your financial goals, whether it's becoming debt-free or building substantial savings, become a reality faster than you think!
