Honored to have participated as a guest speaker and panelist at the Create@UH Showcase hosted by the Cullen College of Engineering at the University of Houston Katy Campus.
It was inspiring to engage with future engineers, innovators, and problem-solvers on topics surrounding AI, digital literacy, cybersecurity, and the future of responsible technology.
One of the biggest messages I shared with students was this:
“AI is not replacing people… it’s replacing people who don’t think critically.”
In a world increasingly driven by automation, algorithms, and rapid technological change, the ability to think clearly, communicate effectively, and make responsible decisions will become one of the most valuable skills any professional can possess.
I’m grateful to the University of Houston team, faculty, organizers, fellow speakers, and students for the warm welcome, thoughtful discussions, and opportunity to contribute.
While I wait for the official event photos and videos from the university team, I wanted to share this moment and express my appreciation for the experience.
Special thanks to the Cullen College of Engineering for the Certificate of Appreciation and for creating spaces that prepare students not just for jobs—but for leadership in a rapidly evolving world.

Attending the Create@UH Showcase at the University of Houston Katy Campus offered me a unique glimpse into the exciting future of engineering education and technology integration. As someone deeply interested in AI and digital innovation, I found the event a wonderful platform where cutting-edge ideas meet passionate students eager to make an impact. One key takeaway was the emphasis on critical thinking alongside technological proficiency. In today's rapidly evolving technology landscape, merely adopting AI or automation tools is not enough; the ability to question, analyze, and responsibly apply these tools distinguishes true leaders from mere users. This mindset is essential, especially when technologies like AI and cybersecurity constantly reshape how we approach problem-solving and decision-making. Moreover, the showcase highlighted the importance of digital literacy as a foundational skill—not just for engineers but for anyone aspiring to thrive in a digital economy. Understanding how to navigate, interpret, and protect information technology systems helps build not only safer digital environments but also smarter, more inclusive communities. Cybersecurity surfaced as another critical area demanding attention. With the growing number of data breaches and cyber threats, engineers and tech innovators must prioritize creating secure systems. This protects sensitive information and reinforces trust in new technologies. Encouragingly, the students presenting their projects demonstrated creativity and awareness of these challenges, often integrating cybersecurity considerations into their engineering designs. Being part of a community like the Cullen College of Engineering also underscored the value of mentorship and collaboration between experienced professionals and aspiring engineers. Sharing knowledge and fostering inclusive discussions motivate the next generation to pursue innovation with responsibility and ethical foresight. In my experience, events like Create@UH not only showcase talented students and their projects but also serve as a reminder that the future of engineering lies in combining human insight with technological advancement. As AI continues to evolve, the human capacity for critical thinking, communication, and leadership remains irreplaceable and paramount to shaping a successful, future-ready workforce.
