Mom co-signed a bad loan 😬
Three years ago, my uncle asked my mom to co-sign a loan for a brand new F-250 truck for his “construction business.” I told her not to do it — that there was a reason the bank didn’t trust him, and he didn’t need a luxury truck for framing jobs. She called me a “kid with no life experience” and did it anyway.
Fast-forward to now: the business failed, my uncle hasn’t worked in months, and the bank is threatening to repossess the truck. My mom is drowning in bills and mortgage payments… and now she wants me to help fix it.
I told her I warned her years ago and that I’m done helping people who don’t listen — then called her an idiot. Harsh? Maybe. But honestly, it feels like she learned the hard way.
Would you have said the same, or was I too cold about it?
