When performing hip thrusts, it's common to mistakenly arch your back, which can reduce glute engagement and potentially cause discomfort. From my experience, keeping your back straight throughout the movement really helps isolate and activate the glutes effectively. Instead of moving only your hips, try to move your entire body—including your head—with each thrust. This coordinated movement maximizes muscle activation and helps prevent common form errors. Additionally, focusing on squeezing your glutes at the top of each thrust can intensify the workout and improve overall strength gains. It's also helpful to practice in front of a mirror or record yourself to check your form. If you notice excessive arching or minimal glute activation, slow down the movement and consciously engage the right muscles. Over time, these corrections can make a big difference in both performance and muscle development.
