Pretty in pink- at any age 💗
Okay, mature skin, let’s talk.
Because I don’t know about you, but I still want to feel pretty — not filtered, not 20 again — just the best version of me. And if you’re anything like me (which I think you are), you want makeup that works with your skin, not against it. That lets you play with color and still look like yourself.
Today’s look? All about soft pinks, glowy skin, and products that don’t settle into the wrong places. Because real women deserve real results. Period.

Embracing your beauty at every age, especially with melanin-rich skin, is a journey I absolutely love sharing! If you're anything like me, you want makeup that enhances your natural radiance, not masks it. That's why I'm so excited to dive deeper into how you can achieve that 'pretty in pink' glow, tailored specifically for mature, melanin-rich complexions, ensuring every product works for you. First things first: prepping your canvas is paramount. For mature skin, hydration is key, but so is creating a smooth base that prevents makeup from settling into fine lines. I always start with a good hydrating toner and serum, then an illuminating primer, like a VFX primer, to give that immediate soft-focus effect. This step alone can make a huge difference in how your makeup wears throughout the day. Next, evening out skin tone without heavy foundation is crucial. This is where a CC Color Corrector becomes your best friend, especially for melanin-rich skin which can sometimes have variations in tone. Instead of a thick layer of foundation, I apply the CC corrector strategically to areas that need it most, like around the mouth or under the eyes. This allows my natural skin to shine through, giving a much more authentic and youthful look. For a touch of warmth and dimension, particularly around the perimeter of the face and under cheekbones, I've found that a Midnight Trio in a medium-deep shade provides a beautiful, natural contour that enhances my features without looking harsh. It’s all about blending seamlessly for that lifted effect. Now for the fun part: adding that touch of pink! For eyes, I love using a Rose Dune palette. The soft pinks and mauves in these palettes are incredibly flattering on melanin-rich skin, adding a subtle pop of color without overwhelming. I focus on blending a matte shade into the crease for definition, then a touch of shimmer on the center of the lid to open up the eyes. And for lashes, a few coats of Infinilash mascara instantly lift and define, making eyes look wider and more awake without feeling heavy or clumpy. For cheeks and lips, a Prestige Cream Blush is a game-changer. Cream products melt beautifully into mature skin, giving a dewy, youthful flush that looks incredibly natural. I dab it onto the apples of my cheeks and blend upwards towards the temples for a lifted look. The best part? Using the same cream blush on your lips creates a harmonious, 'monochromatic' look that's effortlessly chic. To take it up a notch and achieve that instant plump effect, a tiny dot of shimmer right in the center of your lips truly makes them appear fuller and more luscious. It’s a trick I swear by! Remember, the goal is always to enhance, not to hide. With these techniques and products, you can confidently embrace your pretty melanin, defy age, and rock a vibrant, glowing look that makes you feel fabulous, inside and out. It’s about celebrating real women and real beauty at every stage of life!
