Developmental toys for 0-2 months🧸

Here are the toys I’m using with my newborn in his first two months of life! Becoming parents can be so confusing. What does your baby need? What can a newborn do or see? My tip: Anything high contrast (black and white, add some red sometimes) is great for them early on! They love to look at black and white things! So here are my top picks for toys and play mats. Also crinkle books are fun for auditory stimulation. You can put them under their legs while baby is on their back and the sound encourages kicking! The lights might be a little too much on the piano early on, but from 1-2 months I feel like my baby has started to really like it and it’s not too overstimulating anymore.

... Read moreIn the first two months, choosing the right toys can significantly enhance a newborn's sensory development. High contrast toys are especially beneficial, as newborns prefer stark contrasts like black and white, which can help improve their visual focus. Flashcards designed for babies can aid in visual tracking, making them an excellent choice for stimulating your baby’s sight. Crinkle books provide auditory feedback that not only attracts your baby’s attention but also encourages them to kick while laying on their backs, enhancing their motor skills. Rattles and ankle toys deliver auditory stimulation, promoting movement and coordination as your baby starts to discover their limbs. Play mats like the Fisher Price piano encourage tummy time, which helps strengthen your baby's neck and back muscles while keeping them entertained with engaging sounds and lights. The Lovevery play mat's versatility ensures it will remain useful as your baby grows, making it a smart investment. Whether for a stroller, crib, or bouncer, these toys support developmental milestones. Choose wisely to enrich your newborn's early life with fun and beneficial experiences!
