Weirdest comment I’ve gotten as a SD handler…

As a service dog handler, the interactions with the public can be as varied as the comments received. People often have preconceived notions about service dogs, resulting in unexpected questions and remarks. In my seven years of experience, I've heard everything from funny anecdotes to genuine inquiries about the role of service dogs. Service dogs, like my trusty companion Fidget, not only assist in daily activities but also become a beloved part of the family. However, their presence often leads to curious conversations that highlight both the importance and the misunderstandings surrounding assistance animals. It's essential to raise awareness about the unique tasks service dogs perform, such as medical alerting, mobility assistance, and emotional support.
