Day 2

📍Cape Hedo > 📍ASMUI Spiritual Hikes> 📍 Yakinikulion dinner

Went to Cape Hedo first! bb fell asleep on the car ride so he took the morning nap in the car. it was very windy so would have been a bit cold but we were lucky with the good sunny weather that day!

went to ASMUI spiritual hikes next: started at the info centre and there is a shuttle bus to take us to the starting point of the route and a guide to explain the route to walk! free drinks after you finish the route and we bought a bowl of Okinawa soba at the end too. the route was very well maintained and easy to walk - bb was in carrier (fell asleep halfway) n we took around 1 hour to walk! :')

on our way back to the accoms we saw some remnants of cherry blossoms (since szn was over) so we took a quick stop - see bb Ju's various expressions 🤣

quick nap at accoms before dinner at Yakinikulion. Ordered the assorted Okinawan wagyu beef platter (11k ¥) and a portion of pork belly (1.5k ¥). A bit pricy but the wagyu was soooo good - really MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH 🤤🤤 esp the skirt steak(?) cut - tbh the best we had on this trip damn yumz 😛

Even though it was a windy day, the clear sunny weather made the experience very enjoyable and comfortable. If you’re traveling with a small child, like we did with our baby who napped peacefully during the car ride, it helps to have flexible timing to accommodate naps and breaks. The ASMUI spiritual hikes are a hidden gem for nature lovers and families alike. The hike is designed to be accessible, with shuttle buses from the information center to the trailhead, which is perfect for those who prefer to conserve energy for the walk itself. Having a guide to explain the significance of various spots along the route added an enriching cultural dimension to our walk. We especially appreciated the well-maintained trails and the refreshing free drinks offered at the end. To fuel up after such an immersive experience, trying the local Okinawa soba nearby was satisfying—the perfect light meal to complement the hike. Although cherry blossom season was over when we visited, catching the last remnants of the blossoms added a touch of seasonal beauty and gave us a lovely photo opportunity. Seeing the different expressions of our baby during the quick stop was a memorable highlight that made the journey even more special. Dinner at Yakinikulion was a delightful treat after our day of exploration. Okinawan wagyu beef is known for its exceptional marbling and tenderness, and the assorted wagyu platter did not disappoint. The skirt steak cut was particularly impressive—it melted in the mouth with an unbeatable flavor and texture. The pork belly ordered alongside was also tender and rich, perfect for those wanting to experience a variety of Okinawan meat dishes. While the prices may be a little on the higher side, the quality and flavor justify the splurge for a special dining experience during your trip. Overall, combining scenic sightseeing, spiritual hiking, and fine dining made for a perfectly balanced and enriching itinerary. For anyone planning to visit Okinawa, incorporating these activities into a single day offers a unique taste of both the island’s natural beauty and its culinary delights.

fell in love with central asia and you would too 🇰🇬
I’ve always watched tiktoks and reels on why one should visit Kyrgyzstan, but I honestly never thought it would be so accessible! This Central Asian treasure has stunning, diverse landscapes that are relatively untouched by mass tourism. We enjoyed its natural beauty without breaking the bank - tru
