We went to the Kouri Ocean Tower first and took the self-driving golf cart up the observation deck
Actually quite fun but bb didn't really know what's going on LOL. tried my first blue seal in Okinawa too - got the blue wave because I saw a lot of tourists ordering it, but then it just tastes like blue coral??
after that we had some time so we went to Nakjin Castle ruins - p nice and peaceful 🙂↕️
dinner was at Ocean Boo! to eat some Agu pork shabu shabu. boil the cabbage first and eat the pork with the cabbage - very nice! we also ordered some rice to add into the soup to make "porridge" after we cooked the cabbage and pork since the soup was very sweet by then - yummmyyy yummyy
bb was fussing towards the end of the meal so we had to take turns distracting him/walking him outside 😓 then we rushed home and said goodnight!!✨

One highlight is the Kouri Ocean Tower, where you can take a fun ride on a self-driving golf cart up to the observation deck. The views from up there, including the iconic Kouri Bridge stretching across the turquoise ocean, make for memorable photo opportunities. It’s a spot that feels both peaceful and vibrant with tourists.
If you’re interested in history and want a tranquil place to explore, Nakjin Castle Ruins are not to be missed. Walking through the castle grounds, you get a sense of Okinawa’s rich past and enjoy the calm atmosphere, which contrasts nicely with the lively beach areas. It’s a great place for reflection and to appreciate Okinawan heritage.
For food lovers, trying the local specialties is a must. A visit to Ocean Boo! to enjoy Agu pork shabu shabu offers a delightful culinary experience. Agu pork is a prized Okinawan delicacy known for its tenderness and flavor. Cooking it with cabbage in a sweet broth and finishing with rice to make porridge rounds off a satisfying meal perfect after a day of touring.
Local treats like Blue Seal ice cream are also worth trying. The blue wave flavor, while it might resemble the ocean, tastes unique—some say like blue coral—which adds to the fun of sample tasting. Traveling with kids can be challenging, as noted with the need to soothe a fussing little one, but these moments are part of what makes family trips memorable.
Overall, Okinawa offers a rich mix of natural beauty, historical sites, and delicious food, making it a perfect destination for travelers looking to experience a diverse and engaging trip.
