From Church Girl to Spiritually Guarded & Free
My Journey: From “Christian” to Spiritually Guarded
I was raised to be a “good Christian girl.”
Go to church. Don’t question the pastor. Pray, obey, and forgive, even when it broke me.
But nobody taught me how to protect my spirit.
Nobody told me that not every “Godly” person has good intentions.
That sometimes the loudest prayers come from the quietest manipulators.
I had to learn the hard way that religion without healing is performance.
That being spiritual isn’t rebellion, it’s recognition.
Recognition that God doesn’t live in stained glass windows or judgmental pews, God lives in me.
Now, I’m spiritually guarded.
Not because I’m closed off… but because I’m finally awake.
I know when a prayer is real and when it’s performance.
I know when to stay and when to walk away even if they call it “backsliding.”
This journey is mine. And while I still love God deeply, I no longer need a label to validate that.
I’ve outgrown blind obedience. I’ve stepped into divine alignment.
And I refuse to apologize for protecting my peace, my purpose, and my spirit.
Because the God I know… honors truth, not titles.
And baby, I’m finally free.
