Ember: hidden spot on North Canal Rd

📍 Ember WoodFire Restaurant & Wine Bar – A hidden gem that surprises!

From the outside, Ember looks super unassuming, but step in and you’re greeted with a spacious, beautifully decorated interior ✨🍂 Think autumn leaves hanging from the ceiling and a warm, cosy vibe – perfect for a chill lunch or catch-up.

We went for their lunch set ($28 for a main + appetiser), and it was pretty worth it. Portions were generous!

Here’s what we tried:

🍝 Brown Butter Pasta w/ Tiger Prawns – Rich, slightly nutty flavour, prawns were fresh. Not mind-blowing but still satisfying. 7/10

🍠 Sweet Potato Fries (Appetiser) – Big portion! Crispy outside, fluffy inside. Easily shareable.

🍟 Truffle Kombu Fries – Addictive and crispy. Would 100% order again.

🍗 Karaage Chicken – Juicy, well-seasoned, crispy on the outside. Solid dish!

🍜 Wafu Pasta w/ Salmon – Light but flavourful. Salmon was cooked perfectly and portion was generous. 7.2/10

🦀 Crab Risotto – The standout! Super umami, creamy but not overly rich, with well-cooked rice. Would go back for this. 7.8/10

Overall, a lovely spot with good food, cosy vibes, and decent value – especially for the lunch set. Would recommend if you’re in the area and looking for a nice, relaxed meal 🧡

Besides the lunch sets, Ember offers a brunch and coffee menu worth exploring for a weekend treat. Their wine selection pairs well with the woodfire-grilled dishes, adding to the experience. For pasta lovers, the Wafu Pasta with Salmon is a lighter option that balances well with the richer dishes. The Truffle Kombu Fries are a must-try appetizer, perfect for sharing and balancing savory flavors. The ambience with autumn leaves decor creates a warm vibe that makes it ideal for catch-ups or casual meals. Located at 35 North Canal Road, it’s a bit tucked away but definitely worth the visit if you’re in Singapore and looking for hidden gems with good food and cozy vibes. Don’t miss out on dessert options which occasionally feature seasonal treats enhancing the dining experience. Overall, Ember is a great spot for both casual dining and small celebrations, offering value and quality in a comfortable setting.
