This active recall forces my brain to retrieve information, which strengthens memory retention. Another game changer has been explaining complex topics as if teaching someone else. This method reveals gaps in my understanding and motivates me to clarify concepts until I can teach them confidently. When I apply this approach, I find the material much easier to grasp. I also schedule my study sessions in short, intense intervals of about 25 minutes, followed by brief breaks. This technique, inspired by the Pomodoro method, keeps my mind fresh and reduces distraction, making two hours of focused study more productive than longer, unfocused stretches. Moreover, replacing passive notes with active tools such as quizzes and flashcards—either self-made or using apps like TikoNote—has helped me reinforce knowledge quickly and effectively. The combination of quizzes, flashcards, mind maps, and simplified explanations ensures that learning sticks, especially when preparing for exams. By integrating these strategies—stopping rereading, self-testing, teaching, short study bursts, and active tools—I've transformed my study routine into a powerful academic weapon that has boosted both motivation and results. I highly recommend students experiment with these methods to find what works best for them and avoid wasting hours on ineffective habits.
