Day 4 of 31: 25k challenge account

Participating in a 25k trading challenge has been an eye-opening experience for me, especially realizing how critical timing and patience are in day trading. On day 4, I experienced a small loss of $14.50, which felt frustrating but was a valuable lesson in controlling emotions and executing trades thoughtfully. Often, I find myself rushing into trades out of eagerness or impatience, only to spot a better setup shortly after. This challenge has reinforced the importance of waiting for the optimal entry point rather than forcing a trade just to be active. Another key takeaway is managing trade duration relative to market hours. Entering the trade late in the afternoon meant I had to close it prematurely since the market was about to close, which limited the trade’s potential. To avoid this, I now plan to prioritize earlier entries when possible or consider overnight strategies if my trading plan allows. Using stop losses effectively has also been a focus. For instance, placing a stop loss slightly below previous lows gives the trade room to breathe while protecting my capital. Tracking key levels like previous highs or lows helps me set these levels more confidently. Overall, this challenge has made me appreciate the value of a disciplined plan and continual self-review. Recording daily outcomes and reflecting on mistakes makes it easier to identify patterns and improve.
