life aft alevels!!

hellooo zesties, ive not posted for sooo longg. i thought post A levels would be chill but i guess not (i was superr busyyy). to those taking their A levels this year, JIAYOU and dont lose hope, ur time for fun is coming in less than 5 months. This has been a hectic 8 months for me and these are what ive done (breaking it down month by month).

sooo for DECEMBER: had prom the start of dec and was soo relieved alvls was over. really enjoyed prom and re-living the memories w my friends. my schs prom was also v well planned and the food was q good also (wedding course dinner 😭😭).

- did go for the scsm half marathon and was running my lungs out (bro didnt train due to As). barely survived but made it. there was a whole commotion on the queue situation last year but luckily i got out b4 the crowd situation happened. still was v crowded outside thooo. had 0 energy left but still went for 2 free massages and took my free oatmilk and coconut.

- in dec i also travelled to london and paris and honestly it was a great breather aft the intense exams. I thought i could see the sea while on eurostar but ig not LOL. all i saw was pitch darkness. Did had a few days trips to bath, mont saint micheal and provins and i think it was q worth it. GLADLY SAYING IM GNA LEARN FRENCH NEXT YEAR 🇫🇷🇫🇷. i spent christmas in paris but idk most shops were closed LOL. Ate the best raclette ever in paris too!

in JANUARY: i was working part time 4 times a week at the same restaurant. super fun tbh cuz i was reunited w my fav bunch. everyday ate restaurant food LOL.

- the TCM internship also got back to me really late (ard start Jan) and scheduled an interview the next week. I really thought I didn't get it but was offered an internship in TCM in the last week of Jan.

FEBRUARY/MARCH/APRIL: nothing much really happened this 3 months as i was busy w intern LOL. i made another post b4 this on my intern so i wouldnt explain it here. ate my fav boon keng noods stall everyday LOL.

- i took leave in feb for a day trip to JB and then there was a long weekend in march or april (i forgot) so my parents drove me to malacca and muar! really enjoyed the vibes in malacca and my hotel looked like it came out of a fairy tale. i absolutely gained weight from these 3-4 days in msia LOL.

- i also took leave in feb and april for driving classes and BBDC. bro took so long to clear the first stage LOL. found the clutch really hard to control at first but slowly got used to it. i rmb i horn-ed at like everyone on the road on one lesson LOL. the booking system in BBDC is shit thooo. (booked my classes in sept last year and earliest was feb this year)

- oop i went for artboxx too and really enjoyed this year artbox. there was an array of food and hello arigato had 1 for 1 so we got 4 drinks at the price of 2. Had some free makeup done and won loads of freebies.

- i did go to suntec convention for public garden in april but i didnt enjoy it as much as artboxx. didnt feel much hype and was sooo crowded that i was shoulder to shoulder when walking. left aft walking a few lanes LOL.

MAY:

- finally out of the intern aft the busy 3 months and for first week of may, my parents drove to Hat Yai overnight. Started driving from my house from 8pm and then reached the border ard 7-8am. Too bad it was some public holiday so i jammed abt 7hrs at the Bukit Kayu Hitam border btw Songkhla and Kedah. LOL so in the end i reached Hat Yai ard 4pm. the food in thailand was amazing thoo. I only rmb gg to the diff bars w live music in the 3 night that i was there LOL. the DJ was lit thoo.

- on the last day we went towards the north of thailand to see a super big temple called Wat Phakho then chilled on the island called Ko Yo b4 gg back to msia

- omw back to sg, we stopped at penang for 2 days and i didnt get to eat penang laksa in that 2 days lol. Georgetown was beautiful and the food was good hehe.

- super spontaneous idea but while in the jam, my parents suddenly suggested to go central europe in 2 weeks soooo yeaaa

- went to europe end of may and was sunburned in the first 2 days in budapest 😭😭

JUNE:

- was in europe until 2nd week of June, weather was absolutely brutal. it was super sunny in budapest and vienna then it started raining super heavily in hallstatt and salzburg. Then it was back to sunny when i was in prague and krakow. the food was amazing in europe thoo. my favs are the polish dumplings, borscht, hungarian langos and the goulash.

- i did some flyer distributions in btw my trips (i dont even rmb when lol). they paid me like $35 to stand there and give foolscap in the morning and there was grab reimbursement too LOL. there were soo many mosquitoes outside sch gates and i kept getting bitten 😭😭

- i went for 2 orientation camps so abt 6 days back to back LOL. superr tiring and ngl wtv team im on right, the team loses so i think i got bad luck. my first camp had beach day so the first camp was superr fun. quite excited for sch ngl and alr selected to play in 2 inter-faculty games and joined a few CCAs already.

JULY:

- went to japan the first 2 weeks of July. Most vivid trip cuz its the most recent LOL. i went first to kobe then back to osaka then up to nagoya. Aftwards i went to kyoto and then the onsen town in Toyooka. Finally, back to osaka. The food were extremely good, would say hida beef and kobe beef were excellent. gained so much weight from this trip but real worth it.

- the last 2 weeks were quite chill to slow down from the past 8 months b4 sch starts like next week. pretty much hv gotten all the mods that i bid for so yay.

MISC:

- GYM: i bought a 6months gym membership cuz it was on discount. I also got a 10 sess personal trainer package. kinda regret it cuz i thought life would be chill aft alevels but ended up compromising to hit the gym and not waste my money 😭😭. had a few problems w fitness first so i did not continue my membership aft June LOL. but back to my home gym 😁😁

- GERMAN: i went back to learn german aft As and ig im still progressing. did a placement test in Uni and will be taking a level 4000 mod in Uni hehe.

lemme know any thoughts u guys hv or ur experience aft alvls! Thanks for reading and see yall in my next post!

... Read moreReflecting on my life after A Levels, I realize how important it is to balance productivity and self-care. Like the author, I also found that even though the exam stress was intense, the months following can be just as busy but filled with rewarding experiences. One key takeaway from this journey is the value of setting both short-term and long-term goals. For instance, signing up for internships or part-time work—similar to the TCM internship mentioned—not only helps build your resume but also gives you a realistic glimpse into working life and helps develop useful skills. It’s important to stay adaptable; sometimes offers or opportunities come late, just like in the case described. Travel is a wonderful way to unwind, but planning is crucial to make the most of your trips, as shown with visits to Paris, London, Central Europe, and Japan. The author’s experience of enjoying local food and discovering new cultures highlights the benefits of exploring different horizons after exams. And while unexpected delays, like the border jam on the way to Thailand, can be frustrating, these moments also become memorable stories and teach patience. Another aspect to consider is maintaining physical and mental health. The experience with gym membership and personal training shows that life post-A Levels still requires attention to fitness, even when schedules are packed. Finding a workout routine that fits your lifestyle, whether at a gym or home, keeps energy levels up amid busy months. Learning new skills, like languages—German and French in this case—is also a fantastic way to stay intellectually engaged and prepare for university life. Placement tests and university module bidding indicate proactive steps towards further education. Finally, social activities such as attending prom, orientation camps, and CCA (co-curricular activities) play a major role in building friendships and easing into the next chapter of life. The shared excitement and occasional team 'bad luck' moments make these experiences truly relatable. In essence, life after A Levels may appear overwhelming at times, but embracing the mix of work, study, travel, health, and social life creates a fulfilling transition. To anyone about to finish or just finishing their A Levels, remember that it’s okay to take breaks, make fun memories, and also prepare smartly for what’s next. Your journey, like this author’s, will be unique and rewarding if you keep a balanced approach and stay open to new opportunities.

How to ace O-Levels 🎓✨
Stop wasting time rereading notes. Exams are about recall, not reading. Turn every topic into questions and quiz yourself (I use studypet app for that). Practice with past year papers under timed conditions, it’s the closest thing to the real exam. Switch your study space: library or café. Bo

From N Levels to (Almost) Degree🎓| My PSB Journey
Not the textbook JC→uni route. mine was NT → diploma → degree, with many kopis, bus rides, and a few quiet tears in between. i traded some weekends and late nights for lecture notes, swapped spontaneous plans for library seats, and learned to be okay with moving at my pace. three-quarters done now,

Hi guys, this is my first post here on Lemon8. Thought I’ll use this to properly introduce myself. 2 years ago, when most people chose comfort, I chose risk. I walked away from a 5-figure salary job, right before turning 30, that point in life where everyone tells you to “be stable”. But I
