newest date idea in town! build your own film camera 📸📹

hiii everyone long time no see!! recently my bf and i went for the CUTESTTT date ever at @The Artsy Lens Singapore where we built our own film camera, designed them and even developed the film ourselves!! 🎞️

we got the couple pack, and it came with x2 film cameras (you only get to build one), cafe drinks are free! here’s how it went:

1. you get to choose the colour of your first film camera, and you get instructions on how to build your other one!

2. there are many charms and stickers and tools for you to decorate your own camera & we went crazzzzyyy with it lol & stuck a bunch of things

3. after decorating & building, you go around the area to take your own film photos! (Film is provided)

4. then you come back and they will teach you how to develop it (pouring of chemicals, then you dry and can see your film!)

they also let you choose your photos and will print out in a photo strip for you 😝😝

... Read moreTrying out the build-your-own-film-camera experience at The Artsy Lens Singapore was truly unforgettable for us. Beyond just assembling the camera, the personal touch of decorating it with so many charms and stickers made the experience deeply engaging and playful. It’s a fantastic way to bond, especially for couples or friends who enjoy hands-on creative activities. One highlight was walking around with the newly built cameras, capturing candid moments with the provided film. Knowing that the photos were on actual film made each shot feel special and deliberate, unlike the instant gratification of digital photography. Waiting to develop the film added an exciting anticipation to the date. The chemical development process was surprisingly approachable thanks to the staff guidance. Pouring the chemicals and watching the images slowly appear on the film was a magical experience — it brought a nostalgic charm that you rarely find these days. Plus, the free cafe drinks while working on the cameras meant we could relax and chat easily, enhancing the overall ambiance of the date. Having the option to pick our favorite photos for printing as photo strips created lasting souvenirs of our day. If you’re looking for a unique date idea in Singapore, this concept of building and developing your own film camera is highly recommended. It combines creativity, adventure, and nostalgia perfectly, making it far more memorable than a typical dinner or movie date. Whether you’re a photography enthusiast or just curious to try something new, it offers a fresh, artistic way to spend quality time together.
