Simple pancake recipe

First you’ll need

. Bag of Krusteaz pancake mix

. Milk

. Water

. Butter

. Syrup

. cinnamon

. Vanilla extract

add some pancake mix and a dash of milk.. ( I don’t usually measure or follow the instructions on the bag ) I just add milk and a bit of water until it’s at a thick but creamy consistency. Mix a bit of cinnamon and vanilla extract into it

I then use an electric griddle set to 350 and I scoop on spoonfuls of my pancake batter into desired pancake size.. once you see the top side start to bubble up.. flip the pancake

Plate, add a slice of butter and here is the key.. you want to heat up your syrup before hand.. don’t ask just trust me.

Pour the hot syrup over it and there you have it.

... Read moreMy journey to perfect pancakes with Krusteaz mix has been a delicious adventure, and I've picked up a few extra tricks I'd love to share! While my original recipe is all about ease and intuition, sometimes a little extra guidance can make all the difference, especially when you're aiming for those truly yummiest, fluffiest results. First off, let's talk about that 'no measuring' approach. It works wonders once you get a feel for it, but if you're new to the kitchen or to Krusteaz pancake mix, here's how I gauge the 'thick but creamy consistency.' Imagine heavy cream or a slightly loosened yogurt – it should pour smoothly but not run like water. If your batter is too thin, your pancakes might spread out too much and be flat. Too thick, and they could be dense or not cook through evenly. Don't be afraid to add a tiny splash more milk or water, stir gently, and observe. The key is gentle mixing to avoid overdeveloping the gluten, which can make your pancakes tough instead of tender. A few small lumps are perfectly fine! Now, for turning those good pancakes into truly amazing ones! Beyond the cinnamon and vanilla (which are non-negotiable for me!), try experimenting with other flavors. I sometimes fold in a handful of mini chocolate chips or fresh blueberries right before cooking. A little lemon or orange zest can also brighten up the flavor significantly. And about that heated syrup – it’s a game-changer! When syrup is cold, it tends to just sit on top of your warm pancake. But gently warming it beforehand (a quick zap in the microwave or a few minutes in a saucepan) makes it thinner, allowing it to soak into the pancakes, distributing that sweet goodness more evenly with every bite. It elevates the entire experience from nice to absolutely divine. Have you ever had your pancakes stick or come out flat? It happens to the best of us! With Krusteaz pancake mix, achieving that perfect golden-brown exterior and fluffy interior often comes down to your griddle temperature. If your griddle isn't hot enough (I aim for 350°F as mentioned), your pancakes might stick or absorb too much butter/oil, becoming greasy. If it's too hot, they'll burn on the outside before cooking through. A good test is to flick a tiny bit of water onto the griddle; if it sizzles and evaporates immediately, you're usually good to go. Also, make sure to lightly butter or oil your griddle between batches for consistent non-stick performance. And remember, resist the urge to press down on your pancakes while they're cooking – that just deflates them! Finally, let's talk about serving and enjoying every last bite. While butter and hot syrup are classic, why not try a dollop of whipped cream and some fresh berries, or a sprinkle of chopped nuts for added texture? For a savory twist, I've even seen people top them with fried eggs and bacon – though I'm usually a sweet pancake kind of person! If you happen to have any leftovers (a rare occurrence in my house!), they store beautifully in an airtight container in the fridge for a couple of days. Reheat them gently in the toaster or microwave, and they'll be almost as good as fresh. Making Krusteaz pancakes is truly one of the easiest and most satisfying ways to brighten any morning!
