Cade's Cove Loop
Had a fun trip to Cade's Cove about a week ago. We saw around 15 bears, about 6 of those were cubs. The crows were super photogenic. Can't wait to get back out there again.

Visiting Cade's Cove Loop offers a unique opportunity for nature lovers and wildlife photographers alike to immerse themselves in the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains. During my trip, I was amazed not only by the quantity of wildlife sightings but also by the quality of interactions—especially with the bears and crows. When planning your visit, it’s essential to prepare for varying weather conditions and to bring appropriate gear like a telephoto lens to capture the wildlife from a safe distance. One of the highlights for me was observing the bear cubs. It’s a rare and rewarding experience to see these young animals in their natural habitat. If you’re into wildlife preservation, remember to respect the animals' space—keeping a safe distance ensures their wellbeing and your safety. Early morning or late afternoon tends to be the best time for both wildlife activity and optimal photography lighting. The crows were surprisingly photogenic, with their glossy feathers shining beautifully in the sunlight. Patience and quiet observation allowed me to capture some great shots. Aside from the animals, the scenic landscapes of Cade's Cove Loop offer fantastic photo opportunities—from historic buildings to lush greenery and mountain views. If you’re planning a trip to Tennessee and the Great Smoky Mountains, Cade’s Cove should definitely be on your list. Beyond just spotting wildlife, engaging with this environment fosters appreciation for conservation efforts and the importance of protecting these delicate ecosystems. Whether you're a seasoned photographer or a casual visitor, the loop offers a refreshing and inspiring outdoor adventure.
