Obey me! Meet n greet
When the AX obey me event had limited tickets for their meet n greet and me and some friends ran to get in line only for them to run out of tickets halfway #obeyme #animeexpo
Oh man, just thinking about that day at Anime Expo still gives me a mix of adrenaline and a tiny pang of disappointment! The moment we heard about the Obey Me! meet and greet, it was like a siren call for me and my squad. We'd been looking forward to AX all year, and seeing the chance to potentially meet some of the voice actors or creators behind our favorite demon brothers? Unmissable! The buzz around the convention center was already electric that morning, but it amplified tenfold when the announcement for the meet and greet tickets dropped. Suddenly, it wasn't just a leisurely con stroll anymore. It was a mission. My friends and I exchanged determined looks, and then, as the OCR perfectly captured, 'We all just literally ran.' It wasn't a jog; it was a full-on sprint, weaving through cosplayers and excited attendees, all with one goal: 'get in line for the tickets' to 'the Obey Me meet and greet.' The energy in that line was something else. Everyone was buzzing, sharing theories about who might be there, re-enacting their favorite game moments. We were so close, inching forward, hearts pounding with anticipation. Then, the whispers started. Murmurs turned into groans, and before we knew it, the dreaded announcement came: 'Tickets have run out.' The air went out of us like a deflated balloon. To be so close, to have run so hard, only for them to 'run out of tickets halfway' through the line, was a real gut punch. It’s tough when you pour so much excitement into an event and it doesn't pan out. But that's part of the con experience, right? It taught us a few valuable lessons for future conventions. Firstly, always have a backup plan. If your top-tier event is a bust, know what else you want to see or do. Secondly, if something is limited, be there *early*. Like, camping-out-early if you can. And thirdly, convention life is full of surprises, both good and bad. Don't let one missed opportunity ruin your whole day. We ended up finding some amazing Obey Me! fan art and even stumbled upon a spontaneous fan gathering later that day, which lifted our spirits. So, while we didn't get those coveted meet and greet tickets, the memory of that wild sprint and the shared disappointment (and subsequent resilience) with my friends is something we still laugh about. It's all part of the adventure at Anime Expo, and hey, there's always next year to try again for that ultimate 'Obey Me! meet and greet' experience!
