This life thing ain’t it
Homeless for two years, lost someone I care about today, I can’t get a job, I’m hated by my sister, lost my scholarships, I miss my pets (they are dead.), I’ve been SA by the men in my life the important ones so many times a part of me blames myself even tho I can’t control the way my body looks- ykw just let me jump atp.
Growing up in the 2000s, I remember feeling like the world was full of endless possibilities, just as the OCR quote reflects — "Growing up felt so exciting... I thought I knew everything I didn't know anything." But life can challenge us in unimaginable ways. When someone faces homelessness for an extended period, as I or many others have, the layers of struggle pile up quickly — losing scholarships or meaningful connections, including the pain of losing pets who were cherished companions. The feeling of being rejected by close family members, such as siblings, can intensify isolation. It’s important to remember that these feelings of blame and self-doubt, especially after trauma or abuse, are common but deserve compassion and professional help. Your body and self-worth are never defined by others’ harmful actions or judgments. For anyone reading this who relates, reaching out to support networks, shelters, counseling services, or trusted friends can be vital steps towards healing and rebuilding. Sometimes, just sharing your story or connecting with communities that understand similar pain can remind you that you are not alone. I encourage anyone going through tough times to hold on to small moments of hope, even if it feels impossible. Healing is a journey and it is okay to seek help in various forms—whether through mental health professionals, social services, or simply finding safe spaces online or offline where your experiences are honored. Life can be unbelievably hard, but moments of support and understanding can make a difference.
