2026 Reads - Now that I’ve Found U-Kristina Forest
Given the age of the characters I expected them to be a little immature but Evie is annoying and selfish and Milo is boring as hell. The only time I enjoined this book was when bad things happened to Evie. After the first twist I thought I hope Evie gets her lick back but no she just complains and spends the whole book trying to find Gigi.

Reading Kristina Forest's "Now That I've Found You" was quite a mixed experience for me. The characters Evie and Milo are central to the story, and while I expected some youthful immaturity given their age, I found Evie particularly frustrating due to her selfishness and constant complaining. Milo, on the other hand, lacked the engagement factor for me—he came across as rather dull and failed to evoke much interest or sympathy. One of the few aspects I found engaging was when the narrative took darker turns affecting Evie. These moments added tension and depth that the rest of the book often lacked. However, after the initial plot twist, instead of exploring Evie's retaliation or growth, the storyline largely focused on her relentless search for Gigi, which grew repetitive and did little to enhance her character development. This was disappointing as I had hoped for a more dynamic response from her character. The pacing of the story contributes to its uneven feel. The build-up before and after the twists sometimes felt slow, making it harder to stay fully invested. Yet, fans of character-driven dramas or those who enjoy exploring complex relationships might still find aspects of the book worth reading. From my perspective, "Now That I've Found You" could benefit from richer character arcs and more engaging interactions that offer growth or revealing insights. Those looking for a fast-paced thriller or deeply likable protagonists might want to look elsewhere, but if you enjoy dissecting flawed characters and their journeys, this book can provide some worthwhile discussion points. In summary, while the novel has its shortcomings, it sparked interesting thoughts about character motivation and narrative focus, which could appeal to readers who appreciate more nuanced emotional storytelling.
