😱🤿 Tank O-ring break before going overboard! And underwater. What to do? 🧐

Many divers, especially novices, have encountered this situation...

Preparing to go under the sea, heartbreaking and wading. 🐠🌊

But when the Regulator was attached to the tank, 👉 heard a "hiss ~~~"Louder. 😰

Yes, sir... the O-ring is broken!

💡 First of all, let's briefly understand 👉 the O-ring is a small rubber ring directly on the tank valve. It is responsible for "sealing" the air abort valve with the Regulator not to leak out. If it is broken, the air will leak out immediately, making the tank unusable at all.

What should I do if I do this?

🔧 O-ring broke before diving.

1️⃣ Set your mind. Check the tank valve and see around it as safe.

2️⃣ Turn off the tank valve when it's safe.

3️⃣ Immediately notify the Divemaster / Diving Controller to change the O-ring.

4️⃣ Check the air supply again before going overboard.

1️⃣, focus on it. Don't spit the Regulator because you're still breathing.

2️⃣ Swim to Buddy, share the air.

3️⃣ After sharing the air, close the valve to reduce the disturbance bubble and good buoyancy control.

4️⃣, end the dive. Get up slowly. Follow Dive Computer to the surface, inflate the BCD and call the receiving boat.

5️⃣ Before the next round of diving, check the Regulator and tank valves and air to be ready before use.

In a simple way, 👉 the O-ring break is no big deal. If we're sober and have a professional fix it, everything comes back black comfortably. 💙
