Why is the hammerhead shark special?

🔹 The look is striking - a wide head spreads out on two sides like a hammer (Cephalofoil), eyes and nostrils on the tip of the head, allowing for a wider view than a typical shark.

🔹 The long, slender body, silvery gray, white belly, strong tail make it swim fast and powerful.

🔹 Small pointed teeth, several rows of cascading, used to hunt prey like sardines, tuna and small aquatic animals.

Primary habits

🔹 Hammerhead are often gathered in large flocks of daylight (schooling behavior), especially at Galpagos - the sight of which is hundreds swimming gracefully together.

🔹 at night will disperse to hunt prey alone, a nimble and intelligent predator.

🔹 looks fierce, but they are not very aggressive with divers, often keeping their distance and swimming through calmly.
