Candles I’ve made this year!
In January of this year I decided I wanted to try and make candles to sell to people I know around the area. After a year of trying new things, making sells, and seeing how far I could take it I realized I have bigger goals for 2026. I plan on creating an actual business so I can sell on Etsy and try to make this my full time job! 2025 was very good to me given the little free time I had to make and sell. I’m excited for this coming year to see how far I can take this and see what els I can add to my craft business as well!
Starting a handmade candle business can be an exciting venture for anyone passionate about crafts and entrepreneurship. Using natural ingredients such as soy wax is a popular choice because it burns cleaner and longer than traditional paraffin wax, making it a favorite among environmentally conscious consumers. Incorporating unique, enticing scents like Chocolate, Matcha Latte, and Cranberry Mojito adds a distinctive touch that helps your products stand out in a crowded market. When planning to sell on platforms like Etsy, building a strong brand presence is essential. This includes creating attractive packaging, writing compelling product descriptions, and engaging with your customers through social media and forums related to #diycrafts and #craftbusiness. Sharing authentic experiences and behind-the-scenes glimpses into your candle-making process can foster a loyal community. Additionally, expanding your product line with complementary items such as handcrafted vegan, gluten-free soaps—which are also free from parabens and sulfates—can diversify your offerings and attract a broader audience. It’s important to keep experimenting with new ideas, like seasonal scents or themed candle collections, to keep customers interested and coming back for more. Finally, setting clear goals for 2026, such as transitioning to a full-time business, requires dedication and consistent effort. Balancing production, marketing, and customer service can be challenging, but the rewards of turning your handmade passion into a sustainable career are well worth it. Embrace your creative journey and enjoy the growth that comes with sharing your craft with others.
