Sunday Morning Cinnamon Bake (Your House Will Smell Amazing)

There’s just something about waking up early on a Sunday, popping this into the oven, and having your whole house smell like a cinnamon bakery. My fiancée loves this one and requests it all the time. It takes literally 10 minutes to prep and comes out gooey, warm, and ridiculously delicious. Makes 4 servings

Ingredients:

1 can cinnamon rolls

1 can apple filling

2 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)

2 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

included icing packet (for drizzling on top)

Directions:

1. Cut each cinnamon roll into quarters, and add them to a greased baking dish (8x8, 9x9, or 1.5 qt casserole dish)

2. In a bowl combine: apple filling, melted butter, cinnamon, vanilla, and pinch of salt. Mix together, while breaking up the apple slices into smaller pieces.

3. Pour the apple mixture over the cinnamon roll pieces, and gently fold everything together.

4. Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes in a standard dish - 1.5 qt bake for 30-38 minutes. Check the center, if it’s still doughy keep baking.

5. Drizzle the icing over the bake while it’s still warm, and serve!

What makes this recipe stand out is how quickly it comes together with just a few pantry staples like canned cinnamon rolls and apple filling. The key tip I learned is to chop the cinnamon rolls into quarters before mixing, which helps them soak up the buttery apple-cinnamon mixture and ensures every bite is soft and flavorful. One great thing about this recipe is its versatility. You can easily swap apple filling for other fruit preserves or even fresh fruit if you prefer a more natural texture. Adding a pinch of salt really balances the sweetness, making the flavors more complex and satisfying. The vanilla extract adds a subtle depth that beautifully complements the cinnamon. Baking times can vary depending on your oven and the dish size you choose, so keep an eye on the center—it should be cooked through but still moist and gooey. Drizzling the included icing packet right after baking while it’s warm melts it just enough to create a sweet glaze that ties everything together. In my experience, serving this with a cup of coffee or tea makes for a perfectly cozy weekend treat. Plus, it’s a fantastic way to start the day with a homey scent that fills every corner of the house. For those who love easy breakfast ideas or simple dessert recipes, this apple cinnamon roll bake is a must-try that feels indulgent without the fuss.
