You can see the modern skyline mixing with historical buildings – it's a unique perspective you won't get anywhere else. Make sure your camera battery is charged! Inside the cathedral, don't rush through. Look up at the vibrant stained-glass windows; the huge rose window is a masterpiece. Each panel tells a story with religious figures depicted beautifully. The sheer scale of the interior is awe-inspiring. I highly recommend buying your tickets online in advance to skip the long queues, especially if you plan to go up to the roof. There are options for stairs or elevator, so choose what suits you best! Early mornings or late afternoons are usually less crowded for a more serene experience. And remember to dress respectfully (shoulders and knees covered) as it's a place of worship – they are quite strict about this. This whole area around the Duomo is bustling and vibrant. You've got the famous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II right next door, perfect for a stroll and some window shopping, or just admiring the stunning architecture. And from the Duomo's vantage point, you can even spot other Milan landmarks in the distance, giving you a real sense of the city's layout. There's so much more to Milan, from fashion to food, but this iconic landmark is truly the heart of the city's charm.
