So much potential!

Im just so excited to have a gaming room finally! There’s a ton of work to be done, but we are going to transform this into the family gaming space we’ve always dreamed of.

We still need to finish unpacking, cover the ceiling with LED clouds, mount the projector and screen for it, and carpet the floors (I am so hoping to find some 90’s arcade style carpet)

And we need some suggestions for the walls!!!

I was thinking maybe some sort of stick on panels?

Tell me what you think we should add!!

... Read moreWow, it’s amazing to finally get started on my gaming room! It's been a dream for so long, and now seeing the space, my mind is just racing with all the possibilities. While I'm super excited about the LED clouds and that epic 90s arcade carpet, I've been doing a deep dive into wall and ceiling ideas to make this space truly unique and immersive. I'm thinking beyond just paint – I want something that really screams 'gaming sanctuary'! First up, those walls! I initially thought about stick-on panels, and after some research, I'm leaning towards acoustic panels. Not only do they look super sleek and add a professional touch to the room, but they also help with soundproofing – perfect for those intense gaming sessions without disturbing the rest of the house! I’ve seen some really cool geometric designs and even custom-printed panels with game art. Imagine a wall featuring scenes from your favorite retro arcade games! Another idea I've been exploring is gaming room wallpaper. There are so many incredible options out there, from subtle pixel art patterns to full-blown murals of fantastical landscapes or futuristic cityscapes. Some wallpapers even glow in the dark or react to blacklight, which could be an amazing feature, especially with dimmable RGB lighting. I’m thinking a bold statement wall behind the main screen could really make the room pop, complemented by more subdued acoustic panels on the other walls for functionality. Now for the ceiling – beyond my initial idea of LED clouds, which I'm still absolutely set on for that soft, ambient glow, I've been looking into other 'game room ceiling ideas' to really elevate the space. One practical aspect is soundproofing the ceiling, especially if we're going to have a projector and sound system. Acoustic tiles or panels can be integrated discreetly, or even become part of the design. For a more thematic approach, I've seen some incredible 'gaming room roof designs' that incorporate starry night projectors, fiber optic lights, or even painted murals that mimic a galactic sky or a dynamic game interface. Imagine laying back after a long gaming session and seeing a tranquil, slowly shifting cosmos above you! Another cool idea is reflective ceiling panels or strategically placed mirrors to amplify the LED lighting effects and make the room feel larger. I'm also considering ways to hide cables and integrate hidden speakers seamlessly into the ceiling structure for a truly polished look. This isn't just about overhead lighting; it's about creating a complete atmospheric experience. This whole process is so exciting, and I'm loving digging into all these creative design elements. It's not just about decorating; it's about building a space that feels like an extension of the games we love. I can't wait to see it all come together, from the vibrant walls to the immersive ceiling. What are your must-have gaming room features or design secrets you’ve used in your own setups? I'm all ears for more inspiration!
