WIP First Draft

I've DREAMED of writing a book for as long as I can remember. This specific book? My DEBUT book? I've been writing down notes, ideas, plot points for literal YEARS. To see my word count progressing so much is incredible to me. I didn't know if I would ever make it happen. But here I am, showing up for myself, pushing myself to be the person, the writer, the--hopefully--future author I aspire to be.

I'm stepping out of my comfort zone for this. But somehow I just know in my heart this is what I'm supposed to be doing right now.

What's my book about? I'm so glad you asked.

He finally found her again after years of searching, watching over her from the shadows. All she remembers are the sirens.

He was the boy who bled for her. Now he's the man who kills for her.

When Haley's stalker resurfaces, she doesn't know the masked stranger watching her every move is the same boy whose life she once saved. She doesn't remember his name, his eyes, or the night that broke them both. But he remembers everything.

He's her Dark Angel.

She's his Firefly.

A dark, slow-burn romantic thriller about obsession, trauma, and the boy who became a monster to protect the girl who forgot him.

... Read moreWriting a debut novel is a deeply personal and rewarding experience that blends passion, persistence, and creativity. As I progress through my manuscript, currently at over 20,000 words, I’m embracing the challenge of crafting a dark romantic thriller centered on complex characters and intense emotional themes such as obsession and trauma. This story revolves around Haley and the mysterious figure who watches over her—the boy she once saved but now barely remembers. The concept of a "Dark Angel" and "Firefly" ties into the themes of protection and forgotten memories, highlighting a slow-burn romance that unravels with suspense and emotional depth. Stories like these require intense character development and careful pacing to maintain intrigue while exploring darker psychological elements. Writing from the shadows, much like the protagonist watches over Haley, I’m learning to overcome self-doubt and embrace stepping outside my comfort zone. Tracking daily word count progress helps keep motivation high, and each writing session brings me closer to the vision I’ve cherished for years. For aspiring writers, especially those delving into romantic thrillers, blending elements such as mystery, emotional trauma, and complex relationships can result in captivating storytelling. It’s important to focus on authenticity and emotional resonance, as these connect deeply with readers. Ultimately, this journey isn’t just about finishing a book—it’s about becoming the writer I’ve dreamed of being, sharing a narrative that resonates, and offering readers a gripping tale filled with suspense, love, and transformation.
