They used my pic for reference
So oladka-art used my pic for reference when making this and I think that’s really cool, I just wish they’d credit me. I asked them to give me credit on all platforms since so much of the pic is exactly like mine but they only did on a couple platforms and didn’t actually tag me in any of them. I love seeing people recreate my stuff but if everything is the same, I just think I should be credited.
It’s completely understandable to feel unsettled when an artwork closely resembles a personal photo, especially when unique details such as gaps between fingers, hand placement, and specific holes seem mirrored. In online communities, such comparisons often spark debates about inspiration versus copying. When assessing whether a piece might be too similar, consider both the context and intent. Artists frequently draw inspiration from reality and references; some similarities may be coincidental, while others could be deliberate interpretations. However, when distinctive elements align precisely, it raises valid questions. One approach is to reach out respectfully to the artist for clarification or to request acknowledgment. Doing so promotes healthy dialogue, reduces misunderstandings, and encourages ethical artistic practices. Additionally, sharing your viewpoint in art forums or social media groups can provide diverse perspectives. Other members might offer insights based on their experience or familiarity with the artist’s body of work. It’s important to remain calm and avoid accusatory language to foster constructive conversation. Moreover, documenting your original image and timestamps can help establish your claim to originality in case of disputes. Familiarize yourself with copyright guidelines relevant to your region and understand fair use policies. This kind of situation highlights the significance of recognition and respect in creative spaces. By addressing concerns thoughtfully and seeking answers openly, you contribute to a positive community that values both inspiration and originality.

That’s crazy! It does look almost identical.
