Full Vlog is up on my YT channel!
This trail and observatory was closed for a while because of the Eaton fires
Thankful we got to go up and experience this nature and historic site
It felt crazy being somewhere knowing Edwin Hubble and Einstein had spent time there
This hike is not to be made on a whim for the average person
It was hard man
44,000 steps and 12 hours later I felt like an alien walking around back in society for days after lol
I have been wanting to do this 6 peak challenge for over 2 years! I’m so happy to finally do it. For a while I thought my only option would be to do them alone because of Arisa’s past ACL injuries but she has really come such a long way in her recovery.
I feel so lucky that I have such a cool sister who is always down for my crazy ideas.
I painted the sign this time! I didn’t have a lot of time so it’s kinda uggo but we did leave it at Sturtevant Trail Lookout if anyone wants to take a photo with it
If you happen to see it pls tag me!
We lugged it up there so others can enjoy it!
Despite this hike becoming exponentially harder than it was advertised, at least we know that the others are within our capability
I’m so proud of us!
Taking on the 6 peak challenge along the Sturtevant Trail was a truly unforgettable experience that tested both my physical endurance and mental strength. This trail is not one to underestimate—each peak brought new difficulties, especially after the area had just reopened following the Eaton fires, which added to the trail’s ruggedness. One thing I didn’t expect was how emotionally intense the hike was. At times, I felt a bit traumatized by the woods, encountering dense vegetation and steep ascents that pushed me beyond my limits. It definitely took me a day or two to fully re-adapt to normal life after spending nearly 12 hours hiking and taking 44,000 steps. What made this journey more inspiring was the historical significance of the location. Knowing that great minds like Edwin Hubble and Einstein once spent time here added a special connection to the space around me. It felt like walking in the footsteps of giants, giving my effort a lovely sense of purpose. Another highlight was having my sister along for the adventure. Despite her past ACL injuries, she has made incredible progress, and this hike was a milestone for her recovery. It reminded me how important a supportive hiking partner is when facing challenges, making the experience not only physically rewarding but also emotionally bonding. I also took the chance to leave a personal mark by painting a sign at the Sturtevant Trail Lookout. It wasn’t perfect, but I hope it adds a bit of joy for future hikers. If you visit and see it, capturing a photo and tagging me would mean a lot! For those considering this hike, be prepared—it is demanding and best suited for those with good endurance and hiking experience. However, the stunning views, historical context, and personal growth make it worth every step. If you’re passionate about outdoor adventures and embracing challenges, the 6 peak challenge at Sturtevant Trail is an experience I highly recommend sharing with a fellow adventurer.
