Throwback to meeting HOZIER!

Stepping into my first concert, especially to see an Irish musician as iconic as Hozier, was an absolute dream come true. The build-up was intense – the kind of nervous excitement that makes your stomach flutter days beforehand. You hear his soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics exploring themes of love and social justice through headphones, but nothing prepares you for the live experience. I knew if I wanted a good spot, I had to get there early. I’m talking seriously early! That day was a perfect example of dedication. I got in line early enough to only be six or seven people back from the stage, which felt like a victory in itself. The line ended up being a really long one behind me, so I was glad I made the effort! But, of course, Mother Nature decided to add her own drama to the day. It rained for about half my wait, and my umbrella was broken RIP, so I was pretty soaked. But honestly, even the rain couldn’t dampen my spirits. There was a sense of camaraderie in the line, all of us united by our love for Hozier. Getting that "Wristband Acquired!" felt like winning a golden ticket. Once inside, the atmosphere was electric. The air buzzed with anticipation, and when Hozier finally stepped onto the stage, the crowd erupted. His presence is just captivating. Every note from his guitar, every word he sang, resonated deep within. Hearing songs like 'Take Me to Church' and others live, with his powerful and soulful voice filling the venue, was an almost spiritual experience. You could feel the emotion in every lyric, a testament to why he's so beloved for his thoughtful songwriting. I also made sure to pick up his other albums on vinyl, because you can't go to your first major concert and not grab some merchandise to remember it by! And then, the moment I thought was impossible: Meeting Hozier! It was truly surreal, and as I mentioned in my initial post, it’s honestly sort of a blur. What I vividly remember is how incredibly kind he was. Despite the chaos of a post-show meet-and-greet, he genuinely seemed happy to interact with fans. And yes, he is SO tall! It was a true 'THERE IS EVERYONE BE COOL' moment, trying to keep my composure while meeting someone whose music means so much to me. It's a memory I'll cherish forever, a perfect ending to my first concert experience. For anyone planning their first concert, especially for an artist like Hozier, here’s my advice: get there early for a good spot, be prepared for anything (weather included!), and most importantly, soak in every single moment. It's an unforgettable journey from the anticipation to the live performance, and if you're lucky enough, even a quick meeting with the artist. It makes you appreciate the magic of live music even more!
