I'm Leaving on May 2025... 🥺

So, I assume that almost ALL of us have found out that Lemon8 is getting taken over by TikTok (since they have the same parent company). 😔 I guess they just want to link things together now. 🙄

But me, personally, I am SERIOUSLY hating this! 😤 I've ALWAYS been totally against TikTok because of this ridiculousness, and I do NOT want to be part of their toxic community at ALL! 😒 So I've NEVER had a TikTok account and am planning to NEVER get one! 😑

But now, Lemon8 is requiring EVERYONE to have a TikTok account, so their data can be linked.... and I guess more people will download this app, and it can become one of the MOST used apps. (like Insta, TikTok, Snap... etc) Ugh... 😮‍💨

And again- I am REALLY hating this! 😣 The reason I even LIKED Lemon8 was because of its small, girly community! 🛍👠💄💅 I absolutely LOVE the positive vibes here! It feels like a safe space to TRULY express yourself without hesitation! And again- IT'S A COMMUNITY! We help eachother out through our journeys; it's a girl-to-girl connection! 🥰 (I know there are males here, but I think it's MOSTLY used by females.... well, at the moment 😒😮‍💨)

I believe that we ALL know that since Lemon8 will be requiring TikTok accounts (May 2025 and onwards), it's gonna get CRAZY here! 😵‍💫 Our safe-space and small feminine community will be gone. We won't have a place AWAY from the other toxic platforms... 😓

And to make things WORSE, since TikTok will be running this, they're deciding to create a NEW, different version of Lemon8... 😑 I guess some of us will wait to see what THAT will look like. 🫤 (I'm most likely gonna be LONG GONE from this app by then... 😖)

I am so annoyed and frustrated about all this!! 😣 Like, why couldn't you guys just LEAVE this app ALONE! 🙄 I know you have the same parent company, but WHY just not have things DIFFERENT for once!? 😩 What's the point of having a whole different app if you're gonna be linking them two together and making them one?! 😤 Why does it all have to be about SPREADING everything! 😒

I think many people (including me) LOVED how PRIVATE this app felt! And because I'm not gonna FORCFULLY download TikTok because of this app's requirement, I'm most likely gonna be leaving on May 2025... 😔

Please let me know if y'all find a better app.... 🥺🙏

... Read moreWow, reading your thoughts on Lemon8's upcoming changes really hit home! It feels like so many of us are grappling with this news, especially with the image circulating about 'Lemon8 will be powered by TikTok' starting November 20th, 2024. This isn't just a minor update; it feels like a fundamental shift for the Lemon8 app, and it’s totally understandable why many of us are asking, 'Is Lemon8 still a thing?' or 'What's the current status of Lemon8?' For me, the charm of Lemon8 has always been its unique vibe – that small, supportive, and truly creative community. It felt like a breath of fresh air compared to other platforms, a place where genuine connections could flourish without the overwhelming pressure or negativity sometimes found elsewhere. Many of us joined because we wanted a 'safe space' to share our passions, from fashion and beauty to home decor and lifestyle tips. We loved how private this app felt, fostering a real girl-to-girl connection that was truly special. Now, with the news about Lemon8 requiring TikTok accounts and the deeper integration, it raises so many questions. What will happen to the monthly active users in 2025 and 2026? Will the unique content quality change? The idea of a 'lemonade Tiktok app' might sound appealing for some, promising a larger audience, but for many of us, it means losing the very essence of what made Lemon8 stand out. The fear is that this integration will dilute the positive atmosphere and bring in the 'toxic community' elements we actively sought to avoid. Many of us, like yourself, have deliberately steered clear of TikTok for various reasons. The thought of being forced to 'sign up' or link accounts to continue using a platform we love is a huge deterrent. It makes you wonder about the 'lemon8 app status 2026' – will it even be recognizable? Will the creative feed, where we shared our 'best lemon8 shows 2025' style posts, still feel authentic, or will it become just another scroll-and-go platform? So, if you're like me and contemplating leaving Lemon8 by May 2025, what are the alternatives? It's a tough question, and many are searching for platforms that offer that same sense of community and support. We're looking for apps where we can truly express ourselves without feeling overwhelmed or unsafe. Perhaps we need to collectively explore new spaces that prioritize user well-being and genuine interaction. It's about finding that next 'safe space' where the focus is on shared interests and positive engagement, not just endless scrolling. What platforms are you all looking at as potential new homes for our creative content and community? Let's keep sharing our discoveries and support each other through these changes!

I think I am one of the only people not freaking out about this 🤷‍♀️ Not to say your feelings are invalid I totally get where you are coming from but I already have TikTok so the log in integration is no biggie to me! But we shall see if and how anything else changes beyond that
