Cricket Needs Our Help ❤️‍🩹

🎗️Cricket needs us — and we need you.

Our sweet foster baby Cricket is currently hospitalized for 24/7 care after testing positive for FPV. He’s fighting hard, and we’re doing everything we can — but we’re running on empty.

💔 His emergency care has already cost over $700, and this hospital stay will be another $2,000 — money we don’t have but put on a credit card because his life matters.

To keep other kittens safe, we’ve also had to quarantine his two moms and siblings, and we’ll be throwing away nearly everything from our nursery: beds, toys, scratchers, and rugs — all gone.

This is heartbreaking and overwhelming… but we believe Cricket deserves this chance. And we believe in the kindness of this community.

🙏 If you’d like to help us keep going — for Cricket and for the fosters to come — donations (no matter how small), sharing this video, or even just sending love means the world right now.

... Read moreFeline panleukopenia virus (FPV), also known as feline distemper, is a highly contagious and often fatal viral disease affecting cats, especially kittens like Cricket. FPV attacks rapidly dividing cells within a cat's body, notably in the intestines, bone marrow, and immune system, leading to severe symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, and immune suppression. Immediate and intensive veterinary intervention, including hospitalization and fluid therapy, is crucial to improve survival chances. Since FPV spreads through contact with contaminated environments or secretions, strict quarantine measures for other cats, as Simba’s Pride Nursery is enforcing with Cricket's two moms and siblings, help to prevent the virus’s transmission. Unfortunately, this safety protocol requires discarding bedding, toys, scratchers, and other nursery items that could harbor viral particles, which adds emotional and financial strain to rescue efforts. Supporting small rescues like Simba’s Pride Nursery is vital as they provide life-saving foster care and rehabilitation for vulnerable kittens but often operate with limited funding. Donations contribute directly to emergency veterinary bills, medical supplies, and quarantine management. Even sharing awareness or sending positive messages fosters community engagement and hope. If you want to help kittens like Cricket overcome FPV and enable small shelters to continue their critical work, consider donating via their provided Venmo (@SimbasPrideNursery) or their Linktree page. Your contributions not only save lives but also sustain essential rescue services that fight against preventable feline diseases. Together, the kindness of this community can make a transformative difference in kitten rescue and recovery efforts.
